We haven't signed Handby yet and if we do he has been told what is required to play League in 2011.

As for overweight blokes = M. Wundke. Tried to go to South at the beginning of 2010 because he was too lazy to get himself in shape and fit. His consistent run with injury caused by his off field excesses was why he only played 3 games last year. Plus he "pouted" over not getting the $$$ he wanted as he thought he deserved coming off an AFL list. Considering he didn't play an AFL league game it was a wise move by the Football Department IMHO. God player but needs to get his head in the game.

As for Stribling - handy as a negating tagger but North supporters cringed everytime he got the ball - he would have easily led the SANFL in clangers, found more of the opposition than his team mates this year.

If they don't wan't to be at North then let them go!

Jeez OTR, you're sounding almost as bitter as me ...

Great that McGregor wants to play, but jury is out on whether he can again with a year out and not being the quickest player before that.
Raymond - presuming Godden has been involved with him in the past? A real outside bet I would have thought - Izaac Thompson, Bolton twins, Mackie, Couch over the last few years.
Still need a really quick player or two losing Cheep, Polec and Smith.

Spot on with your assessments. I hope the eagles are doing everything possible to get Chris Hall back to the club after he was delisted by Freo. A quick rover who will be better for the experience training in an AFL environment - just what we need.

Anyone know whether Raymond has pace? The eagles just cannot seem to land anyone who can break the lines

Very athletic and quick on the lead. Works super hard on the ground and second efforts fantastic. Only about 6 foot. Got a good tank as well. Loves a goal.

Re Phil Raymond, in season 2010, had at least 5 games where he bagged 4+ goals for Pt Melbourne.
Re Chris Hall's pace, he was told by Harvey that he was not wanted by Fremantle because he didn't have sufficient pace for a "small" in AFL. He's more elusive and reads the game well rather than raw pace. He would be handy.

Typical North supporter bagging there players when the chips are down.
The 2 players in question have yet to sign with South and its merely just a rumour at this stage.
I think both are definately required players at north and would be major losses if they were to leave.
(And its supporters like OTR they make guys want to leave North)
Wundke would almost become a new recruit to North if he was to stay as he played majority of the season in the 2's or injured.
But if what im hearing is true, he isnt happy with North Adelaide and is seeking a new home.
He is capable when playing in the right environment and that showed in 2008 and 2009 when he kicked 50-70 goals for his VFL side
As for Stribling, i find this hard to believe as he has finally cemented his spot in the league side under Healy and become probably one of if not the best tagger in the Sanfl. If the rumours that Backwell and Handby have signed with North are true, then maybe thats the reason for Stribling contemplating the move?

Will add to the INS and OUTS list shortly...

Also good to see the Eagles secure Adam Grocke, Angus Rowntree and Nathan Rayner's signatures, all good players for the WWTFC...

Dear Members and Corporate Partners,

2011 Coaching Appointments

Glenelg Football Club is pleased to announce its new-look coaching line-up for season 2011.

Having impressed the Club with his leadership of our Premiership-winning U18 team this year, Kris Massie has been elevated to the role of Reserves Coach for 2011.

Former Adelaide Crow Ken McGregor has been appointed in his first coaching role as forward-line Assistant Coach whilst former Glenelg U18 Premiership Coach Ian Cox takes on the mid-field and also an advisory role to Senior Coach Mark Mickan.

Complementing this line-up on game days will be the experienced combination of Steven Rowe and Jon Symonds.

These appointments come at the conclusion of the Club’s football review which identified a need to reconfigure the coaching panel for 2011 to achieve an optimum blend of technical skills, experience and leadership styles to work under the direction of Senior Coach Mark Mickan.

Glenelg Football Club is excited about these appointments on the eve of our 2011 pre-season campaign.

Taking on the Reserves position was a natural progression for Kris after a highly impressive year with the U18’s whilst Ken will bring a wealth of experience from his playing days particularly in forward line structure. Ian’s experience, energy and knowledge of our Club is a standout and will provide great support to Mark.

Senior Coach Mark Mickan said, “It is clear that there is tremendous resolve within the Glenelg Football Club to maintain our strong minor round form and to step up in the Finals. The restructured coaching panel is very committed and energised to achieving this outcome,” he said.

The Club is now in the process of recruiting an U18 coach for season 2011 following the promotion of Massie. The Club wishes to acknowledge and thank Jason Blair and Jack Horan for their contribution in 2010.

Kind regards,

Kite has some ability but has a few problems with decision making and discipline on and off the field.
He was mentored by Bassett at the Crows and from what we hear Norwood were not prepared to meet his $ demands.
It will be interesting to see how he goes next season but in a very weak Norwood team in 2009 played the last half of the seaon in the Reserves with moderate success.
He did not play AFL for the Crows but possibly played a couple of pre season matches.

Good luck to him. Would have liked to have him but only if he is switched on. Had a tendancy to go missing regularly and was offloaded to the ressies. Wish him the success cockshell has had.
