Talk I heard from Glenelg fans.was that Kim is Scot Welsh's uncle.And he talked him to joining Glenelg.My mail from the same Glenelg people was the deal was done.
Whatever happened Welsh signed with the Eagles .Then his uncle signed up as an assistant coach.

GONE: Daniel Elstone wants to move to another SANFL club.

PORT Adelaide best and fairest runner-up Daniel Elstone is the latest Magpie to fly out of Alberton.

The tough midfielder, who joined Port in 2004 and won its most courageous player award this season, wants to move to another SANFL club.

Magpies football manager Bob Clayton said he was in discussions with ``a couple of clubs’’ and expected to finalise a transfer by the end of the week.

Although Elstone is contracted to the Magpies for the 2010 season, Clayton said the club wasn’t standing in his way.

``It’s disappointing because we were certainly keen for him to stay,’’ Clayton said.

``He’s played 93 games for us and has a lot of experience and we need to keep some of those players around.’’

Elstone joins captain Corey Ah Chee, best and fairest Brad Murray and leading goal-kicker Joel Perry on Port’s departures list.

Clayton said the club was hoping to keep ruckman James Meiklejohn, who has not begun preseason training and is leaving for an overseas trip next week.

Carnival is usually in early January when the clubs are on their xmas/new year breaks.

Training usually resumes around Jan 12 or thereabouts, so it wouldn't be an issue. But I believe the club has laid down a set of criteria that he must meet in order for him to play.

Mickyj throughout the season you have sung the praises of Cheep while the rest of the eagles supporters (and probably other supporters as well) have been scratching our heads wondering why on earth you think he is good enough to play league and in particular why you think he should be on our list this year. You go on and on about his toughness. That is garbage. He is a bantam weight who doesn't do any damage. But more importantly he DOES NOT FIND THE BALL. Why do you continually overlook that? He is not quick, not particularly good disposal and was brought over here as our big recruit. He should be cut quickly and the money used to attract the gun onballer we need.

The North Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Daniel Elstone. Daniel will complement our existing mobile division of James Allan, Rhys Archard and Mathew Wright. He trained for the first time with NAFC on Monday and has settled in well
