If this isn't enough to make you walk away from the SANFL at what point is

When it's an under 23 comp with 4 overage players allowed etc

I get the sense that in actual fact, the vote is not actually yes or no one, it's a process to work out all the details so everyone says yes.

That'd be good, then everybody else would be on an equal playing field with Glenelg.

What sickens me is a man with absolutely no ethics or principles i.e. Steven Trigg can bluff the spineless directors into believing the Crows would go to the SAAFL. This would never happen and I am sure the SAAFL would reject the proposal when they had a good look at it.
This bluff seems to have scared the SANFL clubs into thinking the SANFL would become less significant and seems to be the major reason they are now thinking YES.
In other words a LIE is how the Crows get their own selfish way. The Crows are dead to me !

Calling the SGM and getting rid of the board won't change Chiggy's vote but will be a vindictive swipe at him.

So, obviously, go for it. :)

PS If any GFC member does this let me know and I'll join up so I can vote against him, same with NAFC.

I'll join next year if you do. At least I'm not jumping on any bandwagon. ;)

I will expect the royal treatment when I come down for a game next year though.

Even if the benefits don't outweigh the negatives it might be beneficial to show there is an understanding in why some league directors are casting this vote in favour for this NO AFL in the SANFL group to have some credibility.

It might be beneficial in showing how this should be done IF it is going to happen, instead of screaming NO and acting like a polar opposite of the AFC.

It seems a lot of people are all or nothing, when some middle ground might be the best thing for everyone.

Totally agree. Why are the Crows so petulantly demanding entry into the league SANFL comp from next year or threatening to go to the ammos? No middle ground there! The obvious solution, the obvious middle ground, is for The Crows reserves side to go into the SANFL reserves, where reserves sides belong.
We were also pushing Chiggy on this point after the meeting, and the only response he had was that the Crows have said that it is either League or Amateurs, and that no other option will be given any thought whatsoever.

Which has been the arrogant stance of the Crows PR guy all along - 'our boys won't be kicking the dew off the grass in the ressies' or something like that. Precious much?
"A no vote from any club means there is some sort of risk involved in our entry into the competition not working," Steven Trigg.

Just spoke to ontherails, mungo jerry and lambchops before they go in for North's "members night". Apparently North are a definite yes vote. I have requested everyone feed lambchops heaps of grog, so he lets Bohdan know what we think of him.

By the sounds of things, the North v Glenelg game on Sunday week might be the last appearance by some North supporters at Prospect. Could be an interesting day.

Chiggy basically said all of that too - he said
- all the clubs would prefer the status quo but that simply won't happen.
- that the last few months have been really tough for him and everyone involved and that he wishes it would be over ASAP
- that interest in the SANFL has definitely been negatively affected by the whole debate[/quote]

He was such a strong, fierce and determined footballer. What happened?

As long as we have people that continue say i will support my team no matter what blah blah blah then the people who sit on the boards will continue to take their members for granted and do as they wish. If say 50 percent of norwood members who did the survey said they would not renew their membership, as opposed to 11 percent, i would hazard to guess that norwood would be back in the no camp. But no.....norwood members say no matter what you do you will have our unconditional support. So guess what? Norwood are getting ready to vote yes depite 2 thirds of the survey respondents saying that they dont want afl in the sanfl . So norwood fans you get what you deserve. As for me i am done starting from this week. No wishy washy compromises like i will just boycott games against the crows. I am 100 percent done, not just with the sanfl but australian rules football in general.

From the first moment it was mentioned, Greg Edwards has been promoting the AFL reserves idea on North's Virtual runner forum. Bohdan has always been at about whats in it for Bohdan. I'm guessing the 8 directors will be at Adelaide Oval for every game next year, in one of the best corporate boxes.

I will still watch the Swans, but the sanfl will be done, except for my one game as a member at Centrals.

Interesting that the joker calls people a sook for not supporting their club if this reserves thing goes through. Guarantee the joker won't be supporting North either.

It seems a lot of people are all or nothing, when some middle ground might be the best thing for everyone.

The directors are worried about the comp losing further media profile along with sponsorship dollars if the Crows go to the SAAFL.

They are concerned at their ability to keep the clubs afloat if sponsorship dries up. I don't envy their position if they are having sponsors talking about withdrawing if the Crows do go to the SAAFL.

I don't get the impression that they are doing cartwheels at the idea of AFL Reserves teams in the comp but possibly view it as the least worst option.

All the undertakings and benefits being suggested are just a token effort to appear like the AFL clubs have the interests of the SANFL at heart.

I simply see this now as the club presidents are in damage limitation mode.

There is no doubt this whole debate has fractured and damaged the clubs and alienated sections of their core supporter base.

Agree areaman, that was my impression @ the meeting last week.
Clearly, their response has been contrived amongst themselves - Bays points virtually same as ours.

Having read EVERY post on this thread (& yes, I will claim a Double Century  ), I had a thought:

What if...
Those of us that are walking away from Clubs, Membership, etc. got together as Supporters of SANFL & went to Crows Reserves Games ONLY?
A sort of an "Anti-Cheer Squad" if you like - supporting the Team playing the Crows Reserves on the day but also 'giving it' to the Crows & their supporters.
Squad Badges, Grog Squad Members Badges, 'Colours' of our original Clubs - all on mass.
Imagine, the North Groggies, Snout's Louts, Sturt CS Members, all of us together United against the common enemy

Wonder what the reaction from the Crows would be?
Would be a very interesting Social Experiment too - a season of Anti-Cheer Squad.
WESLO numbers would need to increase :D
