Sadly a bloke in the ressies for North they recruited this year picked up 8 clearances, 28 disposals and 10 inside 50's and 8 tackles. He was very well known to Centrals but we couldn't be arsed showing any interest.

Round 2 he had 25 disposals, 9 clearances, 11 tackles.
Round 1 he had 21 disposals, 8 clearances, 11 tackles.

Wont be long until he makes his league debut for North.

We missed out big time.......absolutely filthy about this one!!

That's disappointing when we struggle to recruit.

He might not of but league chances at Centrals would have been a lot better, which is why his back in the SANFL system. My point being Centrals knew he was looking to get back in the system but never could be bothered making contact. It’s a shame coz he seriously can play.

Absolutely because they were the only ones to make contact with him.

Best mate is at North but what he wants most is league football.

Is an absolute gun and no doubt up to the standard if given the chance.

I don't know exactly what it is, players? coaches? admin? I doubt I will see another flag for at least ten years which would make me 70 when it happens.I hope I'm wrong, but we are back to being a mediocre team and I can only hope Meggsy Edwards weaves a little of the magic he did with North. I have not seen one of the past premiership players back at the games for a long time.no idea where the Gowans boys are these days or any of the other players but the club could do with their Imput. I can't see where we are going atm but looking from my eyes it is nowhere.

Just what magic do you believe happened?

North have been very good against the Eagles, thrashed Central after quarter time and lost to the strongest Adelaide SANFL side that has probably ever been fielded whilst North was suffering from numerous injuries and COVID restrictions. North has a midfield possibly the equal of any in the league when you add Andrew Moore to Aaron Young, Campbell and WIll Combe and Wigg. I think that a genuine ruckman and another key defender are the two missing ingredients that preclude North from being a premiership contender. Mitch Harvey does a good job in ruck, but I would much prefer him to be the second ruckman whilst also playing up forward, a role he played so successfully in 2018.
Jacob Bauer looks so good that already after two games there are whispers that he is being looked at in the midseason draft. I wonder why he didn't play league the first week against the Eagles. Given the opportunities that we had up forward that day, he may have kicked another bag.

Can you enlighten me on this ruckman obsession you North supporters have?
Harvey should be the State Ruckman right now.

Are you also aware of the following stats from the 2018 Grand Final?
hit outs- norwood 53 (baulderstone 50), north 34
clearances- norwood 48, north 30
sweet 2 marks, baulderstone 2 marks.

north ruckman had no influence on the win, its a midfielders game these days...

Jordan Sweet coming in to the side was the last piece of the 2018 puzzle. He enabled Harvey and Barns to play up forward and in the Grand Final Barns kicked 4 goals and Harvey 3. Sure Harvey is a better than average ruckman, but I think most North supporters think he is an even better forward with the occasional run on the ball. He is obviously a complete different build but there are similarities with how the Eagles used Jack Hayes with Redden as the main ruckman, and with how we would like to see Harvey used. This is how he was used late in 2018.
Obviously the North hierarchy see it differently.

3 games so far, 3 times we've kicked 10 or more goals, that's much better than last year.

Yeah not going to win many games though conceding 16 and 13 goals.

This is our problem we improve one area but its just robbing paul to pay peter, which is a sign to me we aren't really improving just shifting the deficiencies.

It is better to watch but as yet isn't produce better results.

Does the old saying true, premierships are built on a strong defence.
