Speaking to a couple of Westies players today....the 4 week recipient had that coming, he made
a nut of himself against them as well.

They also said that's exactly the way Lokan played his footy (they played against him) so the
team is only following the coaches instructions.

No big deal but he will have to change his game as the umps will be all over him from now on.

Surely the bump off the ball shown in the 45 second mark in the footage was not the reason for the suspension? That sort of bump happens many times in every game. Was the report purely because Boyd was injured?

That incident isn't even a free kick.

Just assuming, based that it was singled out in the highlights...

I think his poor record didn't help, either, regardless of whether that was the incident, or not...

4 weeks Phil, you wouldn't get that for kicking in the SANFL.

Agreed! (If its the bump on the Footy Fix highlights)

Not sure it is that one. Heard rumour it was not very clear on video, and was surprised it was put up to tribunal. Think the SANFL just wanting to stitch this kid up, and the Bays, for how they went about it on the weekend. They were not impressed. Expect Lokan to use similar tactics against Sturt this week, and like Eagles, they can't retaliate as they have finals to play. The umps did pay several soft free kicks to Boyd after half time, probably just a bit too late.

Who was not impressed? SANFL? Eagles?

Both! As previously stated by others, Woodall has had this coming to him and they took their chance to teach him a lesson. he got what he deserved!

Big PHIL, you mentioned Woodall's poor record. Do you know how many times he has been reported before? I'm amazed he has been hit with 4 games if that bump shown is the reason. So many SANFL players have been found guilty of striking this year but have only been given fines. The tribunal has obviously taken the stance of " rough play" being worse than a strike.

That honestly can't be the incident.

Certianly not worth 4 weeks.. But surely Bays supporters weren't proud of the way their side went about it on Sunday.. Rough house tactics are one thing but I reckon they went too far. Reasoning behind it who knows.. But disappointing given they had shown some good signs at times this year and I am not sure that approach to games is the way forward as a club..

It was almost as disappointing as reading a Magellan post that has no pun involved..

If that bump in the footage was the reason why he was reported then it shouldn't matter how many times he has been cited previously. The bump shown simply was not reportable. Mcgregor's high hit on Woodall was far worse and wasn't even looked at. Eagles fans on here are calling Woodall a thug based on seeing him play 2 games against them this season. In both games Boyd was actually reported for striking Woodall, found guilty and given fines. As I said previously, striking seems to equal being let off in the SANFL these days.
