See, sib, no longer a free world. ;)

What's more free than following ten clubs in a ten team comp?

I guess I have supported the Crows since I was 8 so when they entered the AFL. After 4 years of Norwood matches with my Dad and Brother. Dad, My Barother and I all started going to crows games in 1991 and stopped going to Norwood games. In 2000 I became a member of norwood again since I was 18 and was able to drive myself but after 25 years of going to crows matches each week I couldnt not support their reserves team. So I support both.

If CEY does win it, I'll be interested to hear the interviews from him and his coach* about their take on the significance of winning the medal.

*Provided he stays to the end of the count, or even turns up.

They will say all the politically correct things I'm sure.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Old habits are hard to break. If Nigel Smart is somehow involved there'll also be a generous touch of smugness.

What really interests me is the extent that they pay respect to the long tradition of the medal, and the honour of being named the fairest and most brilliant player in the comp, irrespective of its strength. What I fear is that all we'll hear is how it will (a) give Don Pyke more reasons to pick CYE in the A-grade, (b) will boost his price on the trading block, and (c) become a notch in the Crows' belt in terms of 'club achievements'.

We need a Pure Magarey Medal, in which votes can only be earned in dinkum games between two sovereign clubs.

I agree.
We also need a dinkum leading goal kicker.
It'll be a bit of fart arsing around, but once we get the game by game medal votes, we would then have our dinkum medallist.
It would be interesting to see if it's the same player who wins the compromised Magarey. Some players might be better at earning votes against opposition who choose to rest star performers for a quarter, or a half at a time.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Depends how many votes Riley takes off him.
If the umps don't notice Riley given he's not a familiar face (which often happens) then I think Kirkwood is going to be very hard to beat.
