I'd like to thank Jimmy for a great 2 years of footy at my club and the years he spent with North.
A great player and an even better bloke.
Not a bad career - 3 Magarey's and a premiership.
Unlucky to finish as he has but unfortunately not in our best 21 atm.
All the best in your future endeavours.

Ben Warren in this interview said something along the lines of "I don't mean to steal his thunder, and he'll make an announcement when he's ready, but I'd expect this will be his last year". Said that he would be delighted to offer Allan an off-field role at the Legs next year—so obviously not the case that he spat the dummy & walked after being dropped in the final minor round game.

Finishes his career as the 4th-best player in the SANFL for the year... but not in the best 21 of his club.

Surely there's more to this? A player with finals experience, three medals and 18 votes in this year's count to come fourth can't get a game in Norwood's league side, who had a slump in form as it approach the finals?

Looking at his stats from across the season, on two occasions he gathered only 12 possessions, otherwise he was getting between 25 and 38 touches a game. I know a good performance is more than simply accumulating possessions, such as accurate disposal etc, but surely this would suggest form that would warrant a league spot?

Were those who watch Norwood regularly surprised to see him dropped, and were there any hints his form was on the slide?

Think it was basically a role issue (so far as the coaching team was concerned). Don't think their was any malice or sinister intent behind it. Whether it was handled aswell as it could have been is debateable. Given we had two late outs on Sunday and Jimmy wasn't one of the inclusions, that's basically saying he isn't in our best 23.

A word of advice to Norwood fans, don't try and say hello and good luck to his old man now.

Seems that James Allan has retired from SANFL footy, as previously mentioned elsewhere...

Another OUT for the Redlegs in 2016...

Mitch Wilkins returning to Victoria next year...

Rhys O'Keeffe has been told by North he is no longer required. Apparently it is due to his social life and who he hangs around with.

So he might not be the only one cleaning out their locker for that reason???

I know Mitchell and O'Brien will not be there next year. There are a couple of players unsure if they want to play next year due to the time commitment regarding shift work and playing SANFL.

Looks like, along with Lonergan from Glenelg, that another Tassie native may be leaving the SANFL to go back home...

Ian Callinan possibly returning to original club Clareance, to coach his former club -

Looks like the Callinans are heading home.

Was all the talk in tassie last week.

Matt McDonough was today delisted by Richmond. Would be a handy pick up for the Eagles if not taken by another AFL Club (highly unlikely).
Would be a good replacement for Angus Rowntree for 2016

Matt Fuller delisted by the Dogs, hopefully if not re-drafted he heads back to the Parade

He would indeed be a great pickup. However these days its pretty hard to get players from Melbourne-based clubs back to Adelaide once they have been delisted due to the (work) opportunities that city has over ours. And the social life. He is worth a crack though.

SANFL clubs are far more likely to be successful targeting their former juniors from non-Melbourne based clubs. For that reason, I would be keeping my eye on former Eagles junior Malcolm Karpany. He is currently on West Coast's list but will be extremely lucky if he isn't delisted at the end of the season. As a speedy onballer he would be a useful acquisition to our midfield.

Talked to the West Coast's based recruiting man in Adelaide on the weekend and he seemed to think Karpanny would get at least another year. His first two years have been disrupted by illness and injury. With this years draft being fairly weak after the top 25, AFL clubs might be reluctant to let go players they have already invested two years in.
