1984 GF: First game I ever saw live. We lived interstate for 10 years leading up to 84 and my Dad the Norwood supporter bought tickets as soon as they went on sale. A bit optimistic but it worked out well.

1999 GF: I only went because Dad was going and Sturt's reserves were playing South. We won the reserves and the Port V Norwood league GF is still the best game I've ever seen. The banter between us and the Port people in the row in front of us went on all game but was always in good humour and as soon as the final siren sounded they were quick to turn around, shake hands and offer their commiserations. All in all the best day I've ever had at the footy even if Port did win.

2002 GF: Should be my all time favourite but not to be. Sturt had only won 2 flags in my lifetime and I finally got to enjoy a premiership win and all that goes with it. Sitting with a mate who'd followed Centrals since 64 made it even better. 1 week later......

was 95. I decided to go on the day so got tickets in the back row of the members stand but had a mate who worked for Bass as soon a the show started he came got us gave us reprinted front row tickets and off we went to the front row. Great show great cheap seats.

The same mate got sacked about a year later for reprinting tickets for other shows.

2002 GF was also a reasonable day at FP.

1. The 1994 Grand Final - easily the best game of football I've ever seen live. Down by plenty early, and we clawed our way back into the game, little by little. All this after copping a 12 goal belting from the Eagles two weeks prior.
2. The 1988-90, 1992, 1995-96, 1998-99 premierships all came in my lifetime, and the only one I missed seeing live was 1992, because I was on holiday in Queensland.
3. All the State of Origin wins, especially the times we beat Victoria.
4. Scott Hodges in the 1996 Preliminary Final. Cometh the hour, cometh the man.
5. In early 1998, I went to a Franklin Graham crusade at Footy Park, mainly because Jars of Clay were performing. Technically, that was my first gig, and I managed to hook up that day. Within a few months, I was going to gigs every week.

The first game under lights, first game I remember going to
1991 Rod Jameson kicking the goal after the siren in the wet against Fitzroy
1991 Eagles first finals, even though we bombed out was amazing to finally be there!
1993 Premiership, first Grand Final I had ever been to, with my dad, who passed away before we won the next one.
2000 Reserves Grand final, probably seems like an odd choice to most but it was the first premiership I was involved with and will always remember it, the league result on the other hand....
2006 and 2011 Grand Finals
Trust the process.

'82: Preliminary, my first game Glenelg staggered over the line against 3 in a row premiers, Port.
'83: Davies 15 goals against top of the table West.
'83: State match vs Vics.
Mid-'80s: Woodville's finals victories. Fantastic atmosphere.
'88: Sturt's 1 point victory over Port in front of about 38,000 fans. Bus driver let passengers off the bus about halfway up Magarey Drive owing to traffic jam. Arrived after game had started and feeling the massive roar boiling out of the ground as we approached. Entering the ground and discovering we had 2 goals to nil. Those massive roars were from our mob. :D
Crows first game and hammering the Hawks.
'98: Grand Final. Lost to Port but a great atmosphere, in front of a full house and good to be back on the big stage after so many years in the wilderness.
Missed so much footy in my 13 years in Japan.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

For atmosphere, excitement and build up the 95 GF was the best one I have been to.
2000 GF the most memorable for obvious reasons and loved 2004 GF, i know alot of people dont like blow outs but i love them as long as im on the right end.
AFL wise the Hawks 3 point win in 01 against all odds over the choking Power

Agree. As a neutral, I thought it was fantastic.

That's you kicked out of the Sham 69 fan club then.

For mine...

93 PF when we thrashed a much older and more fancied Port.
97 GF when we thrashed Port.
84 GF when we beat a much more fancied Port.
99 GF when we lost to Port but remains one of the best games of footy I've seen.

Wasn't there this day, but agree fantastic games, very underrated and still occasionally get out the old ABC video to watch it.

The 2011 GF, 1986 first semi, and first half of the 93 GF are my favourite memories involving my team.

The first GF I went to in 1985 was obviously a special day. Also really enjoyed 2002 as a neutral.

A couple of lingering memories but not greatest moments include the Escort cup when Bays were 10 goals down at 3/4 time v Sturt and won, thrashing North in the 92 QF after they'd done the same to us in 91, and our defence in the 93 second semi v Port.

Another is the only game I've ever left before the final siren, with proud Glenelg-supporting uncle leaving the 90 GF with two minutes to go and hearing the final siren whilst walking under bowels of the members stand. I don't think he could stand being there to see the final siren and Port win, with what was happening in footy at the time.

2004 PF v St Kilda and Wanganeens goal from the boundary in that game.
Monfries off break (as has been mentioned) and that Showdown victory was pretty good to be at too.

With the premiership success Port Adelaide had in the SANFL, coupled with the AFL entry and the years of 2000-2004 it's fair to say I have some pretty fond (and not so fond) memories of Footy Park.

My first GF in '84 obviously sticks in my mind. 9 years old, full Magpie kit. Lace up guernsey, button up shorts with zip fly and boots and socks. A great day to be a kid at the footy, rubbish day to be a Port supporter.

88-89-90 - Was probably the most memorable era for me, not only the team that was embarking on the next decade of dominance but friends and family around me. Not being old enough to drink, but old enough to watch and know what others were doing makes me smile from ear to ear when I think of the late nights/early mornings at Alberton Oval after those years.

92-94-95-96 - This was probably with most dominant of Port units. Hodges, Smith, S.Williams, Phillips, Delaney. What a spine we had.

97 - Port go into the AFL and miss the finals by half a game while Norwood belt the living suitcase out of us in the SANFL GF.

2001-2002-2003-2004 - Port keep winning enough games to finish first or second at AFL level then throw away the double chance with losses to Sydney and West Coast meaning road trips for Preliminary Finals and early exits after winning back to back McLelland Trophy's.

But the 2004 Preliminary Final against St.Kilda will remain as one of the greatest games I witnessed at Footy Park, along with the 94 triumph over the Eagles with late Hodges heroics.

Oh, how I could go on and on.
PAFC. Forever.

1982 2nd Semi-Final Norwood v Port: Whomever won this was more than likely going to finish Premiers. Norwood lead by about 3 goals at 3/4 time in front of 40,000+, but in the blink of an eye Port were on a roll and in front, and Norwood were running on the spot. Up stepped an unknown Rick Neagle to goal from the boundary line and we found our legs again.

1984 1st Semi Norwood v Central: Whilst the entire finals series was massive for Norwood fans (the Prelim and GF's good games with gutsy wins), this game was a corker. 6 goal breeze to the Southern end and the Dogs used it to run out to 5 goals lead at 1/4 time. 10 mins into the 2nd Norwood had reeled it in. Central surged in the 3rd quarter and looked to have hung on in the last, til a Roberts goal was instantly followed by Payne on the run from 50m and the place was shaking.

1997 Norwood v Port GF: Nervous as buggery even when 9 goals up late in the game, after the events of the previous year. Got hammered, pulled a hot chick, and was delerious at finally seeing another flag.

1999 Norwood v Port GF: Heartbreaking result in a game where we were such massive underdogs, but suddenly found ourselves with a chance. Port were so clearly head and shoulders above everyone that year I feared a 100 point belting going into the game. Classic match of football though.

2010 Norwood v Central GF: Again I didn't give us much chance of winning, but we put up a pretty good show and could almost have pinched it. Atmosphere pre and during the game was amazing.
