Pathetic game, Pathetic crowd, very Pathetic effort by Eagles. If you are in front at 3 qtr time and kicking with a gale and dont win from there you do not deserve to win. Very pathetic Eagles and now you will go out in straight sets. Weak, Why the stupid short passes and handballs when most of the players could have kicked goals from entre with that wind. Didn't anyone see Norths last qtr with the wind. One more SANFL game to go then that's it. Comp is going Kaput

You blokes whinging about everything under the sun is pretty amusing, someone want to look up the Bassett v Collins record?

This is the wanker!!
Fergy is one of the most courageous players in the SANFL. He was knocked out cold today going back into a pack for a mark and no doubt it will not change how he plays the game.

I think the other Westies player ran into Ferguson as hard as Ainger did. Nor was there anything wrong with Ainger's timing. Silly free kick to pay regardless of Ferguson's injury.

Only saw the 2nd half, and it was reasonably entertaining footy. Bloods played some good footy in the final term, while the Eagles squandered too many opportunities.

Hopefully Ferguson is okay. Massive collision. Can't blame Ainger for it though.

Tiny crowd by the looks of it. Not a massive surprise given the damage that's been done to the comp in recent months, but I hate to think what crowds may look like in 2 or 3 years time. Time for finals to be played at suburban grounds.

The crowd wasn't any lower than the first week of finals in the last few years. I don't see how suburban ground finals are really going to improve crowds. Anyone who doesn't go to a final because it's at Footy Park is pathetic.

Yeah, agree, it's been poor since Footy Park became "unfashionable". Was the perfect opportunity to trial suburban finals this year. Next year they would be better having it at Adelaide Oval, at least initially, as the novelty factor will probably see crowds up. It sounds as though they'll do the opposite though and have them at suburban grounds next year.

Whilst it will be good atmosphere as 3000 at a suburban ground is pretty good compared to 6000 at Footy Park, it will be the end of any chance of 15-20,000 crowds at a finals game besides the GF.

Agree that the "true" supporters will turn up wherever the game is played, but more chance of attracting neutrals/casual fans at a local ground I would have thought. I guess I can only speak for myself, but I'd be more inclined to go to a final at the Parade or Richmond than FP if South aren't involved.

It didn't stop me going today but I certainly won't miss having to catch two Sunday suburban buses to get there. One and a half hours each way from where I live in the hills, including a desperate sprint to make my city connection.

Adelaide Oval will be heaps easier...

I agree that finals should definitely be at Adelaide Oval (but not suburban grounds). They got over 20K for the first week of finals in about 2008 at Adelaide Oval.

Terrible 2nd half by our blokes.
To be fair, West were much better but to allow them 4 goals in the 1st 12 mins of the 2nd half was shite.

Eagles will get what they deserve next week, me thinks. :( :(

Very poor skills from both sides overall.
Though Westies lost the game in the first quarter.
Half time the game was over.
Great fight back in the third quarter but all to no avail.
WRONG !!!!!!!!!!!!! Great last quarter effort by West but was totally amazed the Eagles gave that game up. No guts.
My hat is off to West for a very courageous effort when all hope appeared to be gone.
Hope Ferguson is OK as no one wants to see that happen.

That was the lowest week 1 finals crowd I can remember. It was pathetic.

Who cares how many people were there. It is only going to get worse, get used to it.
West and the Eagles have loyal fans but they are minimal and always have been.
Was a great day at the footy today.
The finals should be played at suburban grounds but that makes sense and the muppets who run the SANFL clearly don't have any......

Adelaide Oval will help matters. Have they announced where finals will be held in 2014?
