Can understand a few comments about a negative game style, but old Southies like me could not give a flying f--- what it looks like if we can get into the finals on a regular basis.
Your talking to a supporter group that have not tasted success for 50 years....

Other candidates mentioned...
Kym Cobb...top bloke, passionate and a southie.....but not sure hes what we need, an outsider maybe the go.
Tony Bamford......apparently good with youngsters has experience at sanfl.... maybe..
Andrew Jarman.....forget it.
Darren Trevena.... former South player, AFL development coach experience.....maybe..

Another outsider, What so you can sack him a year early & pay out another $100,000+?
Got alot of money at Noarlunga!

I think you will find that Fuller was on a KPI based pay structure for the last 2 years in which they could part ways if he wasnt getting results.... So SAFC arent paying out $120k after all.

Given what everyone is saying about South's financial position being very strong you would think that the club would attract at least a few assistant/development coaches from AFL sides wanting to coach their own club.

Still think Peter German if available would be a very good appointment for South.

while other guys to consider might be:
Shaun Hart Gold Coast who has done well as the reserves coach of the Gold Coast Suns and before that as coach of the Broadbeach Cats.

Hawthorn Assistants
Brendan Bolton also had success in Tassie and as coach of the Box Hill Hawks
Luke Beveridge who has had a lot of success in the VAFA

All well and good to suggest these interstate blokes but are any of them genuinely interested in the job? One would think that they would be looking for a longer term contract to justify relocating to Adelaide.

I'm amazed that Andy Collins at West has lasted as long as he has with his family still in Melbourne. If South are offering a Full time position I still expect Collins to apply, and fans are just going to have to like that or lump it. He turned West from a Basket case on the field into a successful unit

I think you just hit the nail on the head to get a high quality interstate applicant good money and a long term contract are key. To change South culture they are going to need some stability so a long term full time gig is key.

South have just tried the big buck and long term deal and they are back where they started.

No way you are going to get a big name interstate coach prepared to move for the $$$ being offered at State League level IMO.

We must re-sign our gun players otherwise it won't matter who coaches us next year we will struggle!!!!!

Collins for my liking !! I would not give a stuff if a brick wall was built in the back lines .... If It wins games ?? Bring it on !!!;)

Southie, if you had to watch the west style of play week after week, you would be like a lot of Westies old diehards, most of them stay home now, because its not a game of football anymore, its just a pack of players moving from one spot to the other with a ball in there somewhere. I went and watched the Foxtel Cup final, it was the biggest crap game i had seen in a long time, yep, they won the bickies, but if the game continues in the same vein then the game has no future. Let the AWFUL wreck their competition, at least we will still have a competition to look forward to.

1st quarter was pretty good. Considering Norwood play the same way an won the flag last year. No Southies on the bandwagon if they start winning games?

WEST Adelaide mentor Andrew Collins is officially on South Adelaide's coaching shortlist.

Panthers chief executive Evan Arnold said he would discuss the club's senior coaching vacancy in coming weeks with Collins, who last month announced he was stepping down from the Bloods role at the end of the season.

Have South advertised the position at all? I've seen the West ad but nothing from South. Are they just tapping guys on the shoulder?
