In isolation fine, but 4th or 5th 100+ point loss with the squad you publicly lauded as your best in the pre-season .. Whether it's his fault or not the coach has to cop it

Agreed. You run a company and your at the top getting paid the BIG $$$$ Full time.....you got to cop it!!

He needs to take responsibility.....we have a good squad. No excuses!!!!

You get beaten but can hold your heads high for having a good crack but this year the players are not responding to Fuller.

Something has to give by the end of next week.

Unfortunatly thats your problem the list is average at best compared to every other side.

There is probably 5 blokes who would actually get a league game at a top 5 club.

I see Hourigan kicked 6 of Souths 9 goals in the Ressies.
What is Ronnies issue with him?
What ive seen of he goes allright, would easily be in their best 21.
Would think he would be a high draft prospect, too good to be playing in the Ressies

I agree, from an outside perspective they look to have recruited poorly and the team on paper imho is terrible and definatly a bottom 2 side.

More than just recruiting surely.
Their development has been average at best, when is the last time Souths u18's were competitive?
Also a real strong losing culture down there, players go from a poor u18's side to a poor reserves side and then get thrown into an ordinary league side. I feel for some of the players down there that have never played in a half decent side.
Until South get a decent bunch of 18's coming through they wont go anywhere, cant keep relying on imports

Maybe Slade or one of the Gowans. I think the recruiting department needs an overhaul as well. The last couple of off-seasons hasn't produced any real talent.

Totally agree with your comment regarding recruiting the last few years it has been disappointing.

Slade might? be a candidate along with cotton for the West Adelaide Job
Has anyone else heard other names mooted

Yes. You need a decent base. Recruits cost money, and I think there are limits now on the numbers you can have. At any rate they're a short-term solution. Given the choice between a good U/18 system and good recruiting, I'd pick the juniors. I think South have probably had the fewest AFL draftees, and in general the worst yield of juniors making the transition in the last decade or so.

Only had 0.16% to catch up on North and they had done that by the 11-minute mark. Now they're 1.61% ahead which is as good as a win.

Don't worry, the Roosters should have bridged that gap by quarter time tomorrow...

WTF LOL

Very disappointing for the fans...

Not sure who they should look to next year, maybe Micken?

Glenelg, after today's big win over North, then with 1 winnable game and percentage, the spoon could finish up in our trophy cabinet this year.

Correct. On Saturday we had 6 "locals" playing (Crabb, Murphy, C. Daniel, Veide, Brooksby, Redigolo), which is probably the highest count for a number of years. But it is still far too few. Recruits should be used to top up the existing local talent, but with South it's been the other way around for far too long.

As for AFL draftees, the only ones that come to mind in the past decade or so have been Griffen obviously, Froggy Davey (not a South jnr), McNamara and Bollenhagen. Very slim pickings there.

Agree 100% when it comes to recruiting we have become too reliant on recruits from outside our zone, the club needs to reverse this trend.
We seem to pick up a lot of reserves players from other SANFL clubs would rather we just play local talent!!!
