He has plenty of support, he is there to do a job not win a popularity contest.
I reckon 99% of fans and players hope he stays for awhile yet

As I said 99% of his players support him.
Dont think there has ever been a coach that every player gets along with.
As for his coaching staff, couldnt care less if they dont get on with him they are employed to do a job

I think it was at the Westies B&F of 2012 that Dutchy was given information prior to the evening that suggested Collins was going to tell the players on the night that he was stepping down. Dutchy ran with it, Collo didn't.

Very similar to what Mickan did for Glenelg - although Collins still has this finals series to add a premiership. You get the feeling Westies are in a good place to go to the next level after Collins has laid the platform. Despite criticism of his game plan, he has been a good advocate for the SANFL.

Meanwhile, back to the topic

I'd just like to say that regardless of all the issues people have highlighted with Collins over the years he has been in the SANFL, I think he has been great for the comp as well as for Westies. You don't have to always agree with what he says or does but I dont think anyone can argue that he hasn't been passionate about both Westies and the comp. His views were sought by the media and he always seemed to have ideas for the betterment of the comp, the players or football in general. Six years is a good stint these days as a coach in the SANFL and on balance, I think it's fair to say he has been a good overall contributor. Some will probably howl me down but so be it - I think he will be a loss to the comp as much as to Westies.

I think he has built a good squad but hasn't been the best strategist at times such as last years finals series. All the best to him but I hope we get to retain those players that he had brought over from Vic.
