Publicly airing correspondence in matters such as the SANFL funding to the PAFC may not have occured but to think that there has been no sincere "thankyou" offered from Port to the SANFL behind closed doors or in written correspondence is presumptuous.

As opposed to club legends publically airing their conspiracy theories at a function where it was totally inappropriate, but I will concede the point that the lack of gratitude from the Port Adelaide Football Club leadership is based on presumption. Wouldn't be a bad PR exercise to actually acknowledge gratitude though would it, or is the club marketing to the 1% ers? Maybe when the licensing arrangement is finalised it will happen, but it will be way too little too late.

(Some) Port fans on here might simply see it as pay back for what Port have contributed over the years but I would suggest the people at the pointy end of the Port Adelaide Football Club acknowledge the funding in the proper manner and I think it is there for all to see that the new board, President and CEO have taken huge steps forward in turning the financial state of the club around

I would then point you back to a great post by OTR who hammered home the point that you need to have a competition first to be able to dominate. A competition that I now want to free from the overbearing organisation that has taken a colourful game and turned it into a beige (or teal,) corporate showpiece.
