Rnd 1 - West v Central @ City Mazda Satdium (Thur N 28/3)

All discussions to do with the SANFL

I think Laird is punishing him for wanting to leave in the post season. Maybe he should have signed at Prospect, at least he could have walked to and from training living so close to the Oval?
From what I heard, the only thing stopping him signing for North was that you didn't quite have enough money left in the cap?
He should have gone to Norwood then. They are the experts at "dual contracts"

I just thought he wasn't in our best 21? If he couldn't make it last year then he'll battle this year. Given he has the size and experience we need, he's obviously not impressed in other areas important to the coaches.

Not true - because we signed Matt Campbell and Jordan Wilson-King well after Nash was in discussions with North. I think a bit of persuasion by Centrals Management etc. and loyalty to his mates ultimately stopped him from what I hear?

Fair enough...

I think there was a bit of arm twisting (perhaps literally) from his brother-in-law (James Gowans) to stay at the Dogs, as well ;)

Well with eight debutants ( I think), the result was a lot better than I'd expected. I'll take a "punt" and reckon Centrals have probably got the youngest side for round 1.

6 Debutantes for CDFC at league level

Castree, Colquhoun, Glenn, Hewett, Hill, Meulendyks

Gilhuas - WWT & GFC

BUt they presented well and you'd be pretty happy with their effort if you were a doggy fan > still a few experienced players to make their way in too

Went as a neutral last night, Westies look like they have changed their game plan which is good, they looked ok last night but it was unusual to see such a young Dogs team. Really think they will struggle this year.

Definatly wasnt one of Thommos finest nights, strange to see the captain rotated to the bench in the first 70 seconds of the game though. (i dont get modern football)
