I agree, unfortunately times have changed and I believe these games have lost their relevance. There was no real need to re-introduce them.

So, based on the 25 picked, I'll have another crack at my final line-up...
SOUTH AUSTRALIA:
FF: Sam Gray (Port) - Ruory Kirkby (Glenelg) - Luke Jericho (Norwood)
HF: Nathan Batsanis (Norwood) - Adam Grocke (Eagles) - Jeremy Clayton (Port)
CL: Leigh Ryswyk (North) - Nick Liddle (South) - Luke Jarrad (Eagles)
HB: Eddie Sansbury (Central) - Tom Collier (Central) - Daniel Caire (West)
FB: Paul Thomas (Central) - Ben Grieger (Eagles) - Sam Rudolph (Glenelg)
1R: Craig Parry (Eagles) - James Boyd (Central) - Chris Schmidt (West)
INT: James Meiklejohn (Port) - Brett Zorzi (Norwood) - Jarrod Schiller (Central) - Tim Webber (Norwood)
EMG: Robert Shirley (Eagles) - Alex Georgiou (Norwood) - Ben Nason (Central)

Because absolutely zero real SANFL fans are interested in having SANFL or state games as curtain raisers to the GAYFL.
So going to AFL games means you aren't a real SANFL fan?

Swap Georgiou for Rudolph and I reckon you've nailed it.

Why do you say State games have lost their relevance?
The SANFL and WAFL were higher profile leagues in the 1970's and 1980's yet the State games were a big deal then.
Is a SANFL or WAFL premiership more coveted now than it was in that era? I sincerely doubt it. Club supporters then were proud to see their players picked to represent the State and not worried about them getting injured so why should they be now?
