Of the 7500+ would have been 6000 Norwood Supporters.

I thought there was a reasonable contingent of Bays fans down the front of Coopers Hill and then there cheer squad had a few numbers, along with plenty of colour, down the northern end, behind the goals.

Surely not Phil. Not only has the crowd miraculously grown by 2000+, they were all Norwood supporters. I think 80% of the wwt/south friday night crowd were Norwood supporters also.

Surely you jest, looking over from the Western side the Hill looked 50:50 Norwood:Bays supporters

There was also fair proportion of the bays supporters centre wingEeastern side and also in front of the scoreboard (cheer squad)

one thing I do agree with you is that teh Crowd looked liked 7000-7500. Of that the split would have been 60:40 legs:bays.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Come on now people Norwood have the most and best supporters, they have the greatest ever player and coach to be involved in the game and they are the greatest club to live despite winning almost half of their premierships in the 1800's

I've been to other games at Norwood Oval where it appears that there are more people attending than the final number reported, mainly due to the smaller ground and that there's only about 6 metres between the boundary and the back fence along the eastern wing.

Didn't the SANFL take over the gates this year, under the belief the Club's were ripping them off with numbers? Never heard so many people talk about crowd numbers being wrong than I have this year. Interesting.

but most would be basing a crowd figure on what they have seen recorded before them in previous years ala guessing 7K because it looks more than were here last year etc etc.

Crowd figures are stuffed anyway anyone who is under 18 and exits and re enters is going to be counted twice, i know as a kid we would walk in and out the ground 5 or so times in a day heading to meet mates, go to hungry jacks etc etc

For a while now, kids have had pass outs. Not foolproof, but most give them back.

have to agree with this...so much hoo hah about a club that has consistently under achieved for a long time.

crowd numbers are defiantely fudged in the SANFL. I noticed it big time last year.

people pouring into the ground at the parade end all at the last minute on Friday night games...they arent being counted correctly...watch and u will see.

This game presented an opportunity to test ourselves against a side that is competing at a very high standard in all facets of the game. As a club we were very much looking forward to the challenge.

It was obvious from the start that Norwood set themselves up to put extreme pressure on the ball carrier. Unfortunately we couldn’t absorb this and execute our plan. We were 2nd to the ball and made uncharacteristic decision making and skill execution errors.

Though it was a disappointing first half the players re grouped and began playing our brand of football winning the 3rd term on the scoreboard.

Sam Rudolph was again rock solid in defence and Brad Agnew did a terrific job culling the dangerous Simon Phillips – keeping him to two kicks for the game.

Although it was disappointing for us there were many leanings that we can take away from the performance. Knowing the playing group we will only get better as we move forward to Centrals out at Playford Alive Oval - we‘d love to see all supporters there.
