Sure is. But thousands of Mickey Mouse fans watch it and it had to start somewhere.

Being on at 10:30AM, the crowd size is irrelevant because it was live against the gate.

Are you sure "thousands" watch it?

I was discussing the concept with a friend of mine (a Port supporter an avid football follower) on the weekend. He commented (as has been debated over the last couple of years on here), in his opinion it's a great competition, great exposure for the players, sponsors, and great kudos to the winning club.
I asked him who won last year and name one sponsor of a non SANFL club. He couldn't answer either question.
Anyway, sorry for interrupting your discussion. ;)

His "thousands" reference was to the NAB Cup, not the Foxtel...

ah yep, my error.
But the crowd size was irrelevant (at a few hundred) "because it was live against the gate"

Interesting Adelaide now article. Westies taking a "weak" squad to WA, only about one third of their best squad. Is it an indication they think the comp last year was detrimental to their form thereafter?

Taking a weak side to play claremont could be very embrassing for westies.

I'll Admit claremont have been a bit inconsistent this year.but you get that with a new coach.clearly the form side of wafl last three years

I think its Collins admitting a good performance in this comp wont keep his job but finals in the SANFL might

Clearly Collins recognises that to take the Fauxtel Cup (nods to redandblack) seriously would be to jeopardise his team's chances of success in the domestic comp - a fact which has been obvious to most observers for some time - and so he's treating it like a practice match.

I might add that this is exactly the right attitude he should take towards the Fauxtel Cup; and this attitude seems to be shared by Tony Bamford.

So why are the Maggies rubbish then?

Who knew a junior West side and a flooding game plan wouldn't work on the National stage?

Was amusing to see some of West's finest supporters went to Perth. Should get some money back.
