If the allegations that The Spirit were racially abusing Sansbury are true that is simply disgraceful and The Spirt should be ashamed of themselves for stooping that low.

I was sitting right there when that incident occurred and will say I did not hear any racial abuse of any description. There is no question that some Spirit members were yelling at Sansbury, but I did not hear one word of anything racial, racially related or in any way referring to his background.

No.

Why not?

Because he is not going to be needed and he has a wonky knee. He was always only ever insurance for injury and Damian Hynes showed a few weeks ago that he can step up to League level if need be.

Not necessary to use plan b at the moment. As long as we've got one "key forward" playing.

Would have thought it would be only of benefit to play a game, as he may well be needed with Havelberg, Hardy injured and Sutherland and Hayes reported.

Excellent effort by the boys, particularly seeing that we probably had the smallest forward line to ever contest a finals match. The Berger was the only tall player up forward and had very little influence due to his hammy injury.
Very sad to see the injuries to Campbell and Young, two very fine players.
Am a bit worried about two weeks time. If we lose Pumpa and Hayesy due to their reports (btw, I have no idea what Hayes' report was for nor do I know when it took place) and the Berger does not come up, I am not sure what we will do re tall players. We are already missing Obst, Westhoff and Sibenalar so this may place us in a tough situation. Possibly Milney in for Pumper, Hynesy or Schelly for Havelberg, Dunne for Hayes??
Hopefully it won't come to this though and Pumpa and Hayesy will be found Not Guilty.
Cheers

So one Norwood supporter says that he didn't hear anything so it didn't happen. I didn't hear any Centrals supporters yelling out abuse to the injured Norwood player so I guess that never happened either.

But it was a charge, and that is a reportable offence, so I think the umpire had no choice.

The umps had better report every player that initiates physical contact in a marking competition next week then

Sutherland should get a game for stupidity. The Norwood players was always going to mark and he went straight at him with no intention of going the ball.

Heven't seen the replay yet but thew quick look I saw on the superscreen after the incident, it looked like his eyes were on the Norwood player. Will have a proper look later.

Pathetic performance by Norwood, skills were deplorable and they were soft as butter.
Far too many passengers not willing to do the hard yards simple as that.
I really hope Bass gave it to the players after the game because that was unacceptable.

Centrals played OK but nothing special, just waited for a Norwood turnover.
Terrible game of football.

I will say it again watched the replay when i got home late bump free kick yes report no even the TV commentators also said it will be tossed out so all you pundits have a look at it again then get back to me how do you pull out of a contest in mid flight ??? ie football is a contact sport or do you all want it to go down the path of the AFL which is soft.

Unfortunately, with the points system that is operating this year he may well be. Yes, it looked like a minor offence but it still happened. He seemed to start with his eyes on the ball but then took them off the ball and onto the Norwood player, thus committing a charge. In years gone by it would have been thrown out, just not so sure this year. I pray it will be though.

You are right that at the very end he seemed to take his eyes off the ball and put them on the man, that could spell trouble, but I'd still be surprised if he is rubbed out.

I thought Hays was reported but it hasn't been mentioned anywhere. It was for the incident where he put Pfeiffer down behind the play in front of the bench. The Emergency umpire went out and I thought he reported him but the radio didn't mention it. To be honest I think the way Pfeiffer went down made it look worse than it was. It was behind the play and right in front of the emergency umpire so he could be in trouble but I don't think there was much contact made so if reported I'd expect he would get off.
