Probably need to head over to the History Forum, but I wouldn't have thought many teams have won a flag after losing the Quali (maybe Sturt in 76)?

1976 - Despite losing the Qualifying Final to Glenelg, Sturt recover to make it to the Grand Final against the more highly fancied Port Adelaide. Despite being labelled as "too old and too slow" the Blues take control of the game to easily win by 41 points. Ruckman Rick Davies was best on ground and recorded the often quoted statistics of 21 kicks, 21 handballs, 21 hit-outs and 15 marks.

would it really matter who plays the dogs in the grand final as the chances of winning are very slim. should we maybe just have a cup for 2nd? maybe the winner of the prelim final gets something like the plate final in rugby 7's

Any reasons behind why Norwood would defeat the Eagles in the PF after losing in the QF? What would cause the turnaround?

If the Dogs win the second semi again they'll win the flag again.
