Godden must have been reading some of the comments posted on this site :D Almond and Rimmington dropped replaced by Lane and Batley. Redden spending significant time up forward.

We started to play a little better and more direct although there were plenty of moments throughout the match where we persisted going sideways and rather than kicking long. Thankfully these moments were not as often as the last 5 matches.

My best in no paticular order- Lewis, Goldsworthy, Giuffreda, Redden, Jarrad, Staple.

That bloke who wears #57 didn't have a bad game either.

Im struggling to remember an opponent Ive rated as highly as him in a long, long, time .. He's just a supertstar and I genuinely hope he wins an MM before his days are up.

Agreed, Macca is Mr Consistent and would be amongst the top 10 players I have watched at SANFL level in the last 15-20 years. I too hope he wins a MM. A nice guy also.

Once again congratulations to Phil H and the team for the community day displays at the game today and also to the groups who came along with lots of information etc on display.

We are working very hard to be very much a part of the community and the local club local residents and the kids at the local school follow - Phil's efforts are really working as is shown by our improving attendances and membership numbers.

The final count finished 39-42 so Nathan Bassett would still be bitterly disappointed with the result given the sheer extra number of entries they had, only made to look not so bad given the Eagles won them 15-8 in the last term.

Eagles didn't win today's game, Norwood lost it

As poor as Norwood might have been, I thought the Eagles showed some real grit and were pretty good.

Mr Fuller, I think you are a little harsh on Jarrad Allmond. He appears to be a bit of a target for supporters because of his poor disposals, but as a run with/tagger I think he can earn a spot. First time the Eagles played Norwood at Norwood he took Eagleton out of the game and made a significant contribution to the win. Against Glenelg last week he did a great job on McMahon. I do not see him now as playing a position where he will be a big possesion winner because of his high turnover rate.

Allmond was not selected against Norwood because of a foot injury.

Agreed, but with age no longer on his side, you'd think 2011 may be his last real chance for a MM?

That's Glenelg that sing their song on the oval after average minor round wins not the Eagles.

Sorry , we are just trying to fight back from the handicap the League put on us as an area in 1964 ! Jim05 , if the League put a team up your clubs clacker then , how do you recken your following generations allegiances and their numbers would have gone ? I think your club has only 5 flags in well over half a century anyway right ! So we have alot of elderly followers that stay home and watch SANFL tv / Crows , thats just tough and the Eagles will in time turn young ones in the area into members , especially if our AFL clubs remain a JOKE ! Knocking off clubs like Norwood and Sturt from East of Adelaide is such a delight , no wonder Port made the most of it for the longest time ! Fighting above your weight ; one day your club should really try it , its very Australian mate :)

Well done Eagles, they wanted this game and played accordingly.

Sized us up pretty well and did not have a passenger, best players I thought were 21 Eagles
and 3 white maggots. ( )

Cheers,

Only an observation, no need to get all upset. I believe your club has the 2nd or 3rd best membership in the league so my question was where were they on sunday?

Yes, but we won those when there were other competitive clubs in a fair dinkum competition. Your flags have been Mickey Mouse. All of them.
