In our culture is it? Unlike Norths culture for always blaming the coach for their disappointments. Worry about your own backyard, starting with game plan and recruiting

Now now, don't be sooky just because we're still in the Foxtel Cup and you couldn't cut it and full marks to West for winning their last flag when Split Enz had hits, at least ours was when MC Hammer was big! ;)

Bit harsh, he killed North today

Several celebrities at the game today
Bayman
MayZ
Chris Gowans

MACREADIE
Macreadie oh dear
He will be nice and fresh by the time WA play CD at Elizabeth Oval next ...

ALLEWAY
At qtr time just after the farrrrt I mean siren
It appeared Clint Alleway was advising Tim Delvins to be more direct with his disposal into the forward line
Im a tad confused if that was the case
Twice in the First qtr, Alleway within range of goals, kicked sideways to the forward flank/pocket
From memory both disposals became turnovers
The only possible explanation for these kicks was that I was seated near that pocket !

THE GAME
Approx 10 minutes into the 3rd qtr
NA 4-5
WA 13-6
WA were annihilating the Roosters
From that point on NA got going and to thier credit reduced the margin
The rest of the match it was
NA 6-2
WA 1-10

A 33 point win was a fair reflection of how the teams played

I was at Prospect a few years ago when NA walloped WA
A couple of NA players were in party trick mode late in the game
One NA player kinda mocked the the opposition and irked a few WA supporters
It certainly was discussed on SAFOOTY in the review
The tide has turned a bit these days

He had to try something to slop tame the West forwards.

Nice fishing trip their PUNK ROOSTER - I thought you'd get more bites with that comment of yours >

Westies are a top 3 side when they have their best available but our depth or lack of it worries me when injuries come along. I still feel CDFC, WWT and NFC have better coverage to handle this than we do but you only have to a healthy list september so who knows....

I think Nats year is over unfortunately - He has been excellent this year too - A big loss.

Fisher and Webb will play next week and if Port Power are serious, they'd have to give Cassisi another run at westies. He was more than a little short of a gallop but he is heart and soul.

Morans first half was fantastic but the 2nd half I feel he was shaded. To play AFL, you would want to put in 4 quarters but we are talking Neil Craig so who knows when it comes to selection.

I was surprised how indirect North were today. They were much more direct when we played them in round one. On another forum I wrote that west shouldnt tag Jimmy Allan. He gets 30+ touches whether he is tagged or not, but I felt many of his touches are in the back half - a little like Harvey use to play for the Saints. Wonderful player, but doesn't kill you as much as the stats suggest. Saying that, he's welcome to join us at Richmond :)

I think North players over look for Jimmy and give the ball out to him sometimes when he doesnt necessarily need it. His brilliance allows him to get out of trouble that perhaps he shouldnt need to if his team mates went a longer option. Just my opionion and I'm sure die-hard North supporters who watch him week in an out may rightly cut me down on my perspective here.

I also thought that my side mucked around with the ball and went sideways too often as well. Maybe It was the implied pressure which was pretty good from both sides for long periods each quarter.

Look forward to the PA v NA foxtel cup game - Would love to see either side take the cup out for SA Footy.

I'd prefer to see it won by a SANFL club. Go Roosters.

Very good summary Mark.

When things aren't working well and North are pressured they tend to fall back into the Daniel Healey game plan with indirectness. It'll take us a while to get out of it.

Andy Collins ;

''If you've ever been involved with wrestling, it's very fatiguing. I did that with Moran after (wrestling with) Alleway, I did it with Lobbe after Alleway, I did it with Macreadie after Alleway so there's a common theme there isn't there? And he's a young boy I used to coach . . . there was a lot of wrestling wasn't there?''

Common theme ? Wrestling ? Gotta love that .

No point trading "barbs" about the past - geez hanging onto 91 is getting very embarrassing for North supporters now!

R&B - correct re could have / should have won by more. Lucky West lost direction for half a game their goal kicking or it would have been ugly if it wasn't already?

As for Allan according to the stats he still led North with the most inside 50's. If North's defence and the run from it is "on" then Allan tends to spend more time mid field but when we struggle or he has a real heavy tag he tends to operate a lot deeper.

North will need to lift a fair bit to beat Port next week and if we have Stewart up front with Gill and Alleway we need to move the ball into attack quicker and with more accurate disposal to utilise what should be a very potent fwd line.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

Good job Bloods, exactly the type of game that a finals bound side should win. We should have put them away by more, but took the foot off the pedal at wrong time. Two points in the bank though!

Was great to see West Adelaide sniping with spirit not like that sterile AFL rubbish

Yes, West Adelaide have got sniping down to a fine art- you've been developing it nicely since 1991.
Must be why your club hasn't won a flag since 1983.

Interesting Fact

Today was the 3rd time in the one season west beat north at prospect twice

This first happened in 1954 and then in 1956! Not been a great hunting ground for my club over the years

Blacky - Check my quote - I never wrote sniping - can you edit your quote mark! Certainly not a term I'd have used today!

Will be good to have Fisher and Webby Available next week - How did Rankine and Anderson pull up after their first game back for some time today?
