Didn't enjoy seeing David Haydon make a great debut, Ash Duncan play pretty well or Luke Barmby play his best game of league footy for the Dogs?

Possibly.

Unfortunately BP all I see is that we lost.

Ask me next week when the glass may be half full instead of half empty.

It may be a good win an i am happy but you DON'T I STRESS DON'T WIN THE premiership in June. By the reports i read we have a lot of work to do to be up with the Dogs. I am not letting xcuses come to the fore but they had a lot of quality players missing. Yes we did too but we did have close to a full strength team, those wallies from ferral land still have a few card tricks up their sleeves i bet. This is where we fall over we get screwed over by centrals crafty plays and decision making. I do hope Bass has found out a bit today about this team of ours I also hope he can come up with some decisive back up plans to over come Centrals both now and later in the year.
I would think anyone who follows SANFL or any Aussie Rules football would agree you dont celibrate a premiership until the last minute of the last quarter in October.... It's too early to start boasting fellow Norwood supporter's, I'd like to say a few kind words but I will wait till later in the year to pass them on to the Central supporters.

Hey Centurion was it too cold to go to Norwood today????

I didn't. I must come from a different group of supporters.

Club website lists him as 181cm and 76kg. Played his heart out today and will be a formidable opponent in coming years.

Centrals jumped out of the blocks today, but their first quarter dominance did not translate to the scoreboard, kicking just 2.4. Second and third quarters were dominated by Norwood, but they didn't really put it on the scoreboard until late in the third quarter. Centrals then responded in the last and kicked an early goal to keep the game interesting at 16 points. However, between the 3 and 20 minute mark, the game became a dour struggle, not helped by some poor kicking at goal by both sides (though Centrals missed some easy shots, which ultimately were fatal). At the 20 minute mark, the game looked like fizzling out with a 2 and a bit goal win to Norwood. However, Centrals lifted another notch and two quick goals saw the lead reduced to just 2 points with some time left. The ball then spent the bulk of the last few minutes at Centrals end of the ground, but they could only manage a point, and another epic at Norwood ends with Norwood winning by 1 point.

Both sides showed some good signs and not so good signs today and in the end we had another Centrals/Norwood classic. The health department should have public health warnings outside of grounds when these two sides play warning people with heart conditions and pregnancy should not watch these games

At the end of the day the loss wasn't too bad for Centrals as they still stay one game clear on top courtesy of North's win over the Eagles. Had Centrals got up, they would have been 2 games clear on top and complacency (which has been an issue the past two weeks) would have become an even bigger issue. Being only one game clear still gives the side breathing space on top of the ladder but knowing that one loss and they're back in the pack.

This coming from someone who is quick to bring out the salary cap cheats/Centrelink bludgers/pokie bums references whenever their making comments about Centrals/Centrals supporters

Adelaide Hawk - Big Footy wrote:Port Adelaide entered the AFL leaving Central to clean up. They still have most of their administration, as well as major sponsors ... not to mention the generous donations made into their pokies courtesy of Centrelink.

In the SANFL we have a thing laughingly refered to as a salary cap. It's not like the AFL cap which is policed stringently, in the SANFL they allow clubs to do whatever they like, and Central has been blatantly cheating the the cap for many seasons. My club for some reason owned up to a salary cap breach, something that the SANFL would never have known about had they not been informed, and we were fined $50,000 and not allowed to recruit for 12 months.

Central has won 9 flags in 11 seasons. On the surface a great effort. But when the SANFL was a strong competition, Central won zilch. Never looked like it. Pay no attention to their 9 flags, they are as insignificant to SANFL history as Port Adelaide's SANFL flags are in AFL history.

As a "competition", the SANFL is a laughing stock, it's just that Central people haven't worked it out yet.

Considering the sheer numbers of players he developed and lost to the AFL draft I would suggest that Bass is already punching well above his weight and doing a pretty damn good job of it with what he has to work with.

I wonder if AH would have thought the SANFL is a 'laughing stock of a competition' had Norwood won the flag last year?

Anyway, back to the game at hand, does anyone know a final crowd figure from The Parade?

My guess would be around the low 4's, maybe 4,200?
