And let's be honest, Walker's been dominating the SANFL for years now so kicking 7 would be what the Crows expected from him.

And thats why the crows are a joke, what a cop out by craig. Its allright for him to play hacks like sellar.
Oh well, their loss our gain

Can't believe the "hoo ha" over Walker , sure he kicked 7 last week but someone tell me what he has done for the Crows all year ? 1 game doesn't make a season . I would have dropped him weeks ago.

Maybe but he is no Robinson Crusoe, plenty of other duds that keep getting picked each week

What is it with Walker, why won't he tackle? Whats he afraid of?
It doesn't seem to be too hard to work a bit harder off the ball, or is he afraid of the body?

What size crowd ? Should get 10,000 IMO, 8000 V Glenelg and Port is meant to be the " big " rivalry and 25 degrees during the day . Couldn't ask for any better conditions.

Probably only 7,000-8,000. The one port supporters cant afford to go to magpies and power puffs in one weekend. Although im hoping 10,000 to the parade and only 15,000 rock up at aami :D

Just My Opinion

Walker has always starred whether that be in the juniors or being a 16 year old in the A grade or an SANFL final against Port he has always starred.

All of a sudden he has got to AFL level and there are better footballers who are smarter, they study him, and work on him and all a sudden things aint that easy for him, his never had this before.

His never had to work hard because his amount of goals have warranted his spot. Now his only averaging 2 goals a game and that amount of goals alone wont keep him in the AFL system with being able to do the defensive duties.

His learning the defensive side of football for the first time like an under 11 kid would be.

Better football judges than me can't seem to work it out, but my two cents worth (as inaccurate as it might be).

IMHO, there's a couple of factors .. One is that (particularly at AFL level), he's not fast and can be downright slow so that rules out some tackles.

Then I almost get the feeling he's instructed to bump regularly, and can't think quickly enough to distinguish between when he should bump and when he should tackle .. In fact when he doesn't have the ball I don't think he's a very instinctive footballer at all.

Unfortunately for Taylors sake, I've long feared he's not quite tall enough and not quite quick enough, and in the modern era of congestion I have fears over what sort of AFL career he might end up having .. Naturally I hope my fears prove to be ill founded and in many years time he can look back on a long and successful AFL career, with whichever clubs.

Good thoughts.

North's BIG error last week was not having a player on Walker who could push him back. Cunno, though a good player and I thought was quicker than Walker and held him a bit (littlt bit) was just too under sized.

You just need a player to push him around just as hard. Who in Port can stand his ground??

Thought Cunningham did very well and had Walker regularly covered when Walker was leading up the ground .. Working back toward goal was where he held the strength and height advantage

Yep. I think I said similar, Cunno was quicker but did not have the strength when push came to shove! But could you imagine Buckets (Central) on him?

I thought Michael Coad used to keep him pretty well checked when he played on him in Walker's breakout year. Coady would use his body and push Taylor around letting him know that he was right there. it only took a couple of contests then Walker would be worried out of it for the rest of the game.

Not sure if Port have anyone in their side that can do that???

Although he wouldn't be quick enough, Matty Lokan would go the niggle, push and shove with Taylor and has the body strength, IMO, to go with him.

Yeah, off the mark Tex would burn the 100 gamer tomorrow night...

Maybe a Josh Thurgood could be used but I think young Jordan Erskine might get first crack at TW...

Geez Walker cops alot of unfair criticism IMO. Whilst he he may not chase and tackle like Craig would like, I thought his second efforts last week against North were pretty good from where I stood. He also presented well and despite Cunningham being undersized the delivery in the main by the Norwood midfielders was very good and honsoured his leads so to speak and it wouldn't have mattered in some contests who was standing him as he got perfect delivery. His finishing / kicking at goal was very good as you would expect.

I would think that Norwod will be hoping he plays the minimum 5 to qualify for finals so they won't be too upset if the Crows leave him in the SANFL for a few weeks.

I never wrote it on my post but im a massive Walker fan at SANFL level.

I would be over the moon if the bloke ever added white to his guernsey, he can kick 7 goals and not lay a tackle every game for all i care.
