I believe Cockshell played the first couple of trials in the reserves as a penalty for having a disagreement with the coach about a personal matter.

You believe wrong. Any player who missed any part of the pre season (whatever the reason) was not eligible to play for the first two weeks. Cockshell missed the first week of pre season due to injury.

So if you miss because of injury you can't play the first two trials ? That is ludicrous and if this is Fullers so called tough stance he is wrong and unfair and no wonder some local blokes chucked it in. Maybe it wasn't about being tough enough maybe it was something else ?
