Isn't there a clause stating one game has to be played on Saturday afternoon to accommodate the ABC Tv requirements? I've come up with a few suggestions why this might be but hoping someone can set me straight about what's happening that round
1. We finally get SANFL football broadcast on tv on a saturday evening (highly unlikely as this will clash with AFL on another channel, which on this occasion will be Sydney V Power).
2. There will be no SANFL TV broadcast that day (which would annoy all of us).
or 3. The ABC gets to show the East Coast Eagles V Port Magpies Champions league match being played as a curtain raiser to the Sydney/Power game, but I'm pretty sure all those matches are sold to Foxtel.
Anyone got any other suggestions what's happening that round?

It will be an even bigger farce if Sturt/Norwood season ticket holders have to buy a ticket to go to their respective curtain raiser.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ABC record one of the Friday night games and then replay it in the Saturday afternoon time slot...

Norwood 2.2 2.8 4.9 4.12 (36)
Sturt 3.2 3.6 3.9 3.10 (28)
Norwood, 8253
Norwood: Harley 1.4, O'Brien, Cook 1.1, Direen 1.0, McIntosh 0.2, Cunningham, Fosdike 0.1, Rushed 0.2.
Sturt: Twitt, Kartinyeri 1.2, Irvin 1.0, AhChee, French, Standfield 0.1, Rushed 0.3.
Sometime from then until the last round of 2008, that was not an option. Therefore games such as the Glenelg/South playoff for a finals spot in 2006 had to be played on the Saturday up against the Crows final. And it deserved more than a paltry 1992 spectators.

Clearly those in charge of fixing the draw believe that the 7-8k of people that could have attended the stand alone match will largely turn up instead to the AFL match and given them a crowd increase as a result.
I am not sure why they didn't just take up with the suggestion of having the match after an AFL game, that way they still get their numbers, the SANFL fans can come afterwards with their home match ticket or get in at the usual SANFL entry price. People can be there to watch the game, run the bars and so on and not have the ludicrous situation of people standing up talking in front of people trying to watch the game. Instead the results are likely to be your suggestion above with a lot of angst to go with it.
