I think there may have been a hint of sarcasim bayman, birdmanptr certainly does support the Gays, and very passionately. He also spports Lockleys just as passionately, that is where you will find him giving up hours of his time as team manager instead of attending the SANFL on Sat afternoons

That is very hard to answer, certainly the best since the AFL raped the SANFL.

It would be very hard to say they are the best ever as the standard pre AFL in SA was exceptionaly high (and that is in no way supposed to take away from what the Dogs have achieved in the past 11 years) with sides able to match VFL sides in the night comps.

It is no surprise really.A club with a strong administration. The outer northern suburbs is where the young families are,so there is a never ending supply of good juniors. The club is in a working class area, thats the people that play the pokies, plenty of money to buy players from interstate or other clubs. They have the best accountants in the business,Melbounre Storm could have learned a thing or two.The reality is the Dogs will probably play in the next 10 Grand Finals and by the year 2020 they will be third on the SANFL all time premiership list.

Just for the record the sarcasm is about CD getting stronger.

The factual bit is being the best Team Manager.

BTW Ian he knows me he just pulls that old chest nut out in deperate times cause if you dont go watch you cant comment on them. He forgets the years i spent going every week even going to training for about 4 years.

I would say that they are not the best Club in the history of the SANFL (that would be Port Adelaide), but their dynasty (that word makes me choke) over the past 11 years has been second to none.

Like the AFL thread where we virtually agreed that Brisbane 2001-03ish was the best "side," Centrals currently have that, but no more.

People like to say that in this era things were better or the comp. was better, but could the guys playing back in the 60s, and 70s, even 80s, be able to play to their capabilities in this era.
Like what has been stated earlier, back in the day the AFL never took good young players (and yes centrals have lost some good young players to the AFL).
People may say that the dogs may not be up there with the clubs in the 60s,70s and 80s, but would those eras be up to the dogs of now. I'm not saying that the players may or may not be better or worse than others, just that the comps are different.

Best team/club I've seen since following SANFL 1980 onwards.

Maybe not the most talented list , but the best coached and disciplined side by far.

They don't crack, always have belief in their team mates, rarely lose their structure.

Have the player with the biggest heart in the league in Buckets and I would have to say no other club would have 21 players that are so committed to the jumper.

Extraordinary how far ahead of any club in the SANFL they are. They make me appreciate 2006 that much more.

Congratulations to them.

Now that they have actually beaten a real club then I guess they can claim to be the best... for now.

Deep down Centrals fans, do you REALLY feel you've won a flag until you beat Port in one? :-?
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Bring on the Panthers or Magpies in 2011 ;)

Bayman have you got a bit of sh!t on the liver during these past couple of weeks or something? ;)

Having little snipes at our own supporters on a thread about another club is a bit off Mate  Glad you have now kissed and made up ;) ;)

I am a Life Member of Flagstaff Hill FC because of the many years of work I did as a voluteer there, and I still do many hours of work behind the scenes there, whilst these days being heavily involved at Glenelg. Anyone who knows me knows I have black and gold blood running through my veins, and still did whilst at Flaggies too.

Because Glenelg have so many Friday/Sunday/Monday games it is possible to see quite a few games at these times, when otherwise you miss out as you're tied up elsewhere on Saturdays. And plenty of people are still passionate about their SANFL clubs whilst volunteering and/or playing at a grassroots club.

You can tuck that tv remote in the front of your pants, suck on your pipe and forever over-rate your clubs achievements before 1950.
Since then you've hardly been any better than 3-4 clubs that Central have defeated.
