I like Mickan though, and I think the Bays should remember that they were a basket case before he came along, now many are blaming him because they haven't done better.

EDIT:

Well when was the last time Glenelg beat them and it was at Elizabeth

Thanks you Spelly!

Another question: Before this year, when as the last time Sturt beat the Dogs at Elizabeth?
Yet we managed to do it, and we werent playing for top spot, we were sitting about 6th on the ladder in danger of slipping to 7th. I think these Eagles' fans have hit the nail on the head with the "defeatist attitude" observation.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

A week off is cruicial etc. etc. On the other hand you had Mickan saying before the game that top spot wasn't crucial and Glenelg wouldn't have a problem if they needed to enter the finals from 2nd spot.

Fast forward two weeks later and Glenelg are out of season 2010 before Central have even started their finals campaign.

That is the only time I've thought Mickan's approach has been poor and I believe now that almost defeatist attitude before Round 23 has had an impact on another bad finals performance.

well, he was captain of the Brisbane Bears!

The Eagles went one further and although they may have passed through the finals series, kept on losing the one that mattered. Despite it they kept the faith with Ron Fuller and were rewarded with a Premiership, the same will happen for the Bays. Stick with the club and don't give up on them, the pain of these years will soon be forgotten once a premiership is the result of your season which I feel is not to far away for your club, despite this result!

See ya later mickan.

Its usually unfair to completely blam the coach, as at the end of the day his players are mentally weak and a joke.... but the coach has to cop alot of blame for this.

He musnt know how to get his players revved up for a final. Simple as that. He has excellent players with enough talent and a solid game plan, but he is not a good enough coach to mentally prepare his players.

He should go.

Either that or he needs to learn the heimlich manouvre! :)

Nup, Mickan deserves 1 more year. Surely Genelg won't turn to mush 4 years in a row? Remember where you were in 2006 Glenelg, you've come a loooong way since then. If you don't have anyone better, why replace him?

Actually the Bays lost two coaches .Well 1 coach"Gods" and a mentor in Kym Hodgeman (yep another former coach) to the Eagles .And see how the Eagles have grown since "Gods" took over at Oval ave or is it "GODS" Little acre .
But be positive you made the finals .Look how many Defeats Ron Fuller had before he had a win in a GF!!
And one of those defeats made the Eagles a laughing stock for a few years!!!
