They totaly out played us for 80% of the game. Maybe thats a positive IMO any side that controls that much of the footy SHOULD win by plenty????? No sour grapes Eagles definitely deserved to win but I would like other peoples perspective on the umpiring. My thoughts, confusing, IMO the 3 umpires yesterday didnt gel well, too many decisions paid one way by a certain ump and not the other way by the other. Certainly didnt favour one or the other teams.
Interesting a DOGS fan should mention the umpiring .1 umpire seemed to be in love with the only Gowans boy playing yesterday. And before anyone has a rant at me .Check the first quarter he was taken in a tackle 1 arm held(that was important as the day went along for the umps) .He could not get rid of the ball ball up was the result.
Every-time an Eagles player was tackled in the same way(ie 1 arm held) it was ball.It didn't matter how long the Eagles player had the ball, it was holding the ball.
Now standing back and watching the buckets knock on Lewis .Clearly buckets was buggered and frustrated .Why did that umpire not report him. When clearly that impact was worse than the last time Grocke was reported .And it was that UMPIRE!!Surely a head high knock must be reported perhaps the SANFL will take action against that UMPIRE!!
What I did also notice was during different parts of the day. When the dogs were trailing .The old biffo came out and naturally the Umpires somehow (like wrestling ref ) missed it.Now nothing really untoward just the odd slap thump etc to the back .
Must have missed the "old biffo". I saw one minor wrestle and the Eagles got about a 100 metre penalty out of it. The umpire didn't report buckets because it wasn't reportable. Shouldn't have even been a charity goal.
The umpiring was rubbish, but the Eagles were better anyway.
