Funny at Sturt supporter having a go a South...typical arrogance of forgetting where your club was in the late 80's / early 90's until Phil Carmen came to you club to change things, which took time and patience. Give it a rest Clarrie!!!

This is one of the best moves Ron has done IMO. The club has no time for individuals thinking they are better then the club or their teammates. This shows to other players that Ron wont deal with poor attitudes. We want players to fight for a league spot and not just go through the motions of putting on a SAFC jumper and running on the field....we want players to wear it with pride and bust their "guts" out for the club. For too long this has been the case and its great to see Ron finally change that......

Im looking at this move as a positive and not a negative......

Bring on Sturt on Saturday I say!!! :D

Yeah, Sturt supporters.....sheesh.

Just hope he doesn't come back with "dont forget where you club was in the 70's/80's/90's/00's...."

At least the Panthers will have one!

Why bother though?

If any player leaves the club, or even threatens too walk out of a club because he gets dropped, they simply should be told he is no longer wanted/required at the football club.

From the understanding I have, and South supporters, please excuse my limited knowledge of your history/background, but its these kind of players that have been plagueing the football club in recent times and have not allowed the club too move in the direction it has wanted, and has severely damaged the culture within the club. I applaud Ronnie for moving on Williams in this situation if this is how he reacted too a decision by the coach. Players with this attitude have no standing within the game, and I hope South supporters realise that a coach that is willing too make these kind of decisions is exactly what the club needs moving forward.

In respone too the player getting told he is too slow, what would you tell the player? Would you lie too him and give him false hope? This is SANFL football, not u/11's, if your not big enough too accept the fact you have flaws and deficiencies in your game, then your barking up the wrong tree in terms of a career I think.

I'm not sure if its an urban myth or not. But I think Neil Kerley told the young Jarmans (when their grand father took them to a Central's training) that they weren't up to standard.

That isn't true. Kerley didn't coach Central until 1988, by which time both Jarmans were premiership players.

The story was that Pa Jarman took Andrew out to centrals when Daryl Hicks was coach, but Andrew couldn't understand a thing that he said!!! Barrie Robran was recruiting for North at the time and when Barrie went to see Andrew he couldn't wait to sign. Andrew absolutely worshipped Barrie. Ironically Barrie left North soon afterwards.

Andrew (and Darren) were actually tied to Torrens when Torrens had a lot of the North East as their recruiting grounds

spot on human torpedo. For too long good players at south just think they have to turn up and they get a guernsey. For me Ron is installing that you must give your full committment and play well every game not just when you feel like it. You must fight for your position however at the moment there is hardly that with reserves bottom and only a handful of players ready to play league footy. Have got a lot of injuries though and this must be the 4th or 5th players that has now moved on this season for one reason or another. It may take a few seasons but if this is the process I like it. I am surprised about Williams quitting. I would think there are more underlying factors though.

Fully support the club and the Senior Coach in this decison. Its a high probability that the list at the SAFC has to be turned over significantly across the leauge and reserves lists if the club is to become successful at SANFL level.

Had the SAFC supported then coach Robert Pyman instead of supporting the playing group I do think things would be a lot different now as South, the reverse was done and it has cost the club dearly, hard decisions need to be made and its very encouraging to see finally some action being taken. To see South Adelaide actually consist of players that do really want to play for the jumper of the club is going to be the biggest step forward the club can make and not making those decisions will keep the club on the bottom of the ladder for years to come.

We will soon see if the club was right in this decision by the number of other SANFL clubs that organise permission to speak to the lad, if as I suspect there is no interest at all, one might think it was in fact the right thing to do, if other SANFL clubs are beating his door down to get his signature I will happily stand corrected. West are openly looking for other players before the cut off, will be interesting to see the interest level from them for example?

An interesting story from Dylan's point of view...

You would however have to question the irony of making his decision in the same week as being told he was going to be dropped?

I reckon Williams is a huge talent, shame to see him depart like that.
