Very satisfying to defeat so comprehensibly two sides we've had a great deal of problems with in the recent past, especially under lights. Still a long way to go, but Norwood are doing precisely what I hoped for pre-season .... improved attitude, improved game style, improved perfromance.

That's three wins in a row at home, now we need to start winning on the road. The bottom line is, Bassett has Norwood playing the way the game was meant to be played. Nothing overly-complicated, just good old fashioned footy with an emphasis on winning the hard ball and playing as long and direct as possible. I'd rather watch Norwood playing that way each week than that fake crap they throw up in the "elite" competition.

Simon Phillips - they call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning, no-one you'll see is faster than he .... sorry, couldn't resist it :)

kudos have to go to nathan bassett on how he has turned his team around in under 2 weeks - it all started with the anzac day game, all i can say is there will be some serious soul searching being done at brighton road this morning i would suggest, from what i cana gather we were pathetic which as a tiger fan who these days expects to win is totally unacceptable

well done to the 'legs they were way too classy for the tigers

ps, how many times was JAS mentioned on the 5rph call tonight ? :D

Glenelg had won the last 7 games against the Legs prior to last night's super impressive performance by Norwood...

Agree about Phillips AH, he is so quick and after a dissapointing first quarter and a bit, he certainly showed his class in the second half with a couple of sensational goals. That pick up with a wet ball and snap around the body under the scoreboard was a ripper !!

I wouldn't mind seeing 'Flipper' and Paul Puopolo, his Legs team-mate, in a 100m sprint, both lightning quick !!!

Nick Duigan wouldn't be far behind them either.

Yep, absolutely PB, a couple of Duigs runs from half back last night were sensational, he'd be up there for sure...

I reckon Norwood would have 3 or 4 of the quickest 5 or 6 players in the SANFL. Luke Panozzo at Glenelg and Wade Thompson from North would be up there as well and Eddie Sansbury at Central is pretty quick also.

Plenty of talk about how good Norwood were. But just how bad are the Bays at the moment ????????

A flogging by both Strut and Norwood, a " get out of jail " with North and the first two rounds where teams are settling in. Perhaps a lack of mental and physical toughness from the past few years. A sacked CEO, no Mouse, players leaving en masse etc etc. I hope the " we are in our rebuilding phase excuse " doesn't come up in the next few months. We've had that phase regularly over the past two decades.

The SANFL season has been the most interesting in many years ! I just the Bays can be a part of that

Still undefeated since this comment before the Port game.

Well done Norwood! Bassett has turned things around very quickly by the sounds of it. With the defensive mindset they had at Woodville a month ago I thought they were no hope this year.

Worried...me....Not at all !

I'm as concerned as I am playing against any team in the SANFL. Every opposition team has to be respected on the day. But by all means....go ahead and talk it up ! The Legs are red hot favourites, The Bays are struggling etc etc etc. Run with it for all it's worth ! So enjoy your week of no pain ( feels good doesn't it ! )

You and me both Aerie, although I did think we were a chance to pick up maybe 3-4 wins. I always thought Bass could make a difference to Norwood, I just didn't think it would be so soon.

The thing is not to get too carried away about Norwood right now. Yes, us Norwood supporters have celebrated the past 3 weeks hard, but next week we are in new territory. No lights, no Coopers Stadium, another chapter unfolds in Norwood's progress, and a chance for us to start winning away from home.

At some stage we will need to start winning without Taylor Walker, we have only won 5 games without him since he came to the club in 2008. It's not so much what he does, it's the presence he brings to the team, and he loves playing for Norwood.

I'm looking forward to the weeks ahead. I think the four clubs out of the top 5 in 2009 should all be congratulated in how they have attacked the competition thus far in 2010, and for the first time in many years we may have a wooden spooner who can beat most teams on their day.

Question for the Legs fans. Who was the young Norwood player rookie listed by Nth Melb (??) after 2008? Played off half back flank? Is he still at the Roos?

Probably been mentioned, but that's three on the trot for both the Norwood league and reserves teams.

Ladders as of this morning, the Legs jump into the five for the first time this year and have leapfrogged into third with a solid percentage to boot.
