well done to norwood last night, they played some disciplined football, they were first to the ball which got them the free kicks (even though some were interesting), they were prepared to run hard from the back lines with 2 players loose in front of chambers. when this happens what is wrong with going man on man, makes those loose players accountable which Sturt were lacking tonight.

For once I wasn't at the game... luckily by the sounds of it.

What total, utter rubbish.

Fair play to Norwood to back up last weeks tenacious win over Port with a complete spanking of the Blues. They've never been my favourite team, but over the last 30 years I've seen more than fair share of beatings from the Legs.

That said, WTF is going on down at Sturt.

One week we're belting the Tiges and the Dogs and the next we're losing to less-rated sides, no disrespect intended, but that's the facts, Norwood were seen as a bottom-ish team this year and we've been embarrassed beyond belief.

Have to say, 2010 is steadily heading towards becoming a non-event for Sturt...

How many times do you need to be warned for trolling ????
Might be an idea if you just stick to discussing your own team for a while.

Phillips was sensational as was Rowe and Gallagher. Walker got better as the night went on.

Hard to find Sturts best player but maybe Giles or Hinge.

Herring very disappointing at the moment.

Question for Sturt fans (mainly) - Is Ben Nelson doing enough to get a game? If he wasn't getting close to 200 games would he be selected?

Spoke to a couple of sturt supporting mates and they are of agreement.

Gallagher will go on to play 300 games for Norwood he is the epitemy of the outside outside player and no likely hood of getting injured unless he trips over his boot lace, I sat on the wing and we cleared a space for him to run through the spectators can't remember him getting too much of the hard ball at all as soon as a player was put on him he went quiet

However his over the salary cap team went very well last night and well done to them good discipline footy

Port fans are making new words up now. :D

Then again you probably think Matthew Lokan is a hard at it player.

Unable to attend the game but why would nowood want to flood their own forward line, sounds like that's where the ball was all night. As for gallagher being an outside player every team has them(when was the last time you saw andrew mcleod on the bottm of a pack), as long as he puts his body on the line when it counts i will take him as he is. Port last week had 21 outside players in the 3rd 1/4 last week.

Yep, the 'Defeat the Dogs' curse strikes again. From memory last year the Eagles and Sturt both had good wins against Centrals only to lose badly the following week. Sturt have done it again. Go Roosters tomorrow ;)

You seem to be letting it bother you considering you are a Bays supporter. A little worried, are we ?.

Worried...me....Not at all !

I'm as concerned as I am playing against any team in the SANFL. Every opposition team has to be respected on the day. But by all means....go ahead and talk it up ! The Legs are red hot favourites, The Bays are struggling etc etc etc. Run with it for all it's worth ! So enjoy your week of no pain ( feels good doesn't it ! )

Once again. Well done Norwood.....you certainly burst the Strut bubble this week !

During one of the breaks today on ABC TV coverage of the Port v South game, the boys will be having a chat about the great win last night by Norwood over a terribly inconsistant Doubel Blue outfit...

The boys will actually be having a chat with Norwood's Nick Lower, so Legs fans at home watching this game on TV will no doubt enjoy that.

It helps when we have almost all our best 21 available and the young lads in ruck lift to cover the loss of experience.
Norwood with Campbell and Trotter are a different team.

Confidence is vital in football and we are now learning Bassett's game plan.
Very disappointed to miss this game but being overseas makes it hard to get there. Always great to beat the shirtlifters !

What an even competition and good to see the Magpies get up today too.
Nine teams each capable of beating anyone is a healthy SANFL.

What a load of rubbish. Listening in to that game gave me the shits, we sounded woeful.
So often going forward we were denied by their tackling, it became predictable, I began to expect any forward manouvre to fail because we took too long/ didn't know about the pressure/ we were second guessing etc...
I kept expecting the tide to turn at some stage and after half time I thought we were still a chance...
Has anyone but me heard the radio call?
The commentators were absolutely ropeable about the umpiring for about 4 or 5 minutes after half time.
Now I wasn't there. I did nothing but hear the outraged commentary (They were so livid that the umpire's boss contacted them to stop naming the umpire, because it was the same ump each time, and they were dishing it out pretty thick). So I am not offering any opinion on it except that it was damn frustrating to listen to and it sounded (emphasis to indicate that I am not claiming to know anything I didn't see with my own eyes) as though the umpire was killing us off a little quicker than Norwood were already doing. I bring it up because I want to hear opinions from anyone who was there.

Whatever the umpire was doing we were completely outplayed, massacred, pantsed whatever you want to call it Norwood began kicking goals at will as the game progressed and choked the life out of us. Woeful! ******* woeful!
I am sure the stress I experienced would have been balanced out by an equal amount of jubilation for 'Legs fans, (which would have been high indeed because I was mighty pissed off at the time) and so it should. Winning like that is one of the best feelings in football and the issue with the umpire would have nothing to do with it, Norwood were in complete control, and I thought that we just gave up when we couldn't find the answers.
One positive was Weatherald sounded like he had a lot of the ball and used it well. Obviously making a point against his old side, a shame we had to be on the receiving end but still glad that he can perform so well.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

I was listening last night while at the ground and DB said he was a Norwood man. He was equally as livid, if not more, than what Darrell Smith was about the umpiring.

Sounds like a cover up  ;)

On a serious note rtb, that first 10 mins of the 3rd qtr was the worst I've ever seen. And one man was at the centre of it all.
Makes you wonder...there must surely be mental aspects to umpiring, as there is for the players. Did the livid Sturt fans booing get to him? Did he subsequently take it out on the Sturt team on the field?

One of the best team performances by norwood for at least 5 years.
Tackling was magnificent, harassed sturt all night, ball movement was fantastic compared to a few weeks ago.
the umps or one in particular was not good, he just wanted to give 25m penalties at will.
Sturt got a few in the 2nd qtr and norwood got a few more in the 3rd qtr.

Another great night at the parade with plenty of coopers consumed, didn't it taste nice watching norwood dominate.
This week we have got the bays who have given us a couple of hidings at the parade the last few years, we need to show the same commitment & intensity.

Some Sturt supporters are carrying on like the loss to the legs is the end of the world? Try getting thumped by West e.g us in Rd 1!

If I remember correctly this time last year Centrals were thumped by Sturt at Unley and the following week North thumped Sturt by 89 points after holding them to 4-6! Sturt still finished top 3 and made the GF!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

It aint so much the opposition OTR, it was the performance that is concerning.
