Did Jimmy Allen go off injured after half time? Unsighted when it really counted.

Todd Grima should spend less time alternating between playing for free kicks and taking cheap shots, he might be a handy player then. I guess it must hurt knowing you're not the best footballer in the family.

A great game of footy despite the umps pathological urge to insert themselves as players in the drama.

Not injured as such, he had a cut to the head and went off to get bandaged.

I can think of many other North players who cost us goals.
Kicking 1 goal after half time is nowhere near good enough.

try 3 goals 11 and 3 on the full after half time Punk

what a great physical contest i watched today whoever won/lost would be lucky/unlucky, i thought sir frank thring, allan & alleway were clearly norths best & i thought murphy, kirk (especially last term), tenace & ruwoldt are worthy of a mention in a complete team effort, north can rue their poor kicking at goal (i know how you feel) but for them you just have to get back on the horse & go again, thankfully we're not 2 games behind north now
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Zero marks to the ABC TV team who did their pre-game while the ANZAC DAY stuff was going on out on the field.Surely they could have co-ordinated into the telecast somehow. The whole Northern stand was silent and had to endure the talking and carry on from the back where the guys from the ABC were doing to camera stuff before the game( talking about selections and match-ups etc) not a good look at all guys................

Well done to the Bays today, looks like the bookies had the game right.
A great spectacle in the first half but North's effort to only kick one goal was it in the 2nd half? Well you're not going to win too many games doing that. The Bays had a bit more polish in front of goals but the game could have gone either way.
Umpires continue to perplex and frustrate all fans. Mind you watching the Waratahs v Brumbies match tonight even though Im a Waratahs fan and don't like the Brumbies at all the ref was much worse as IMHO had a big bearing on the result and was ridiculously one sided towards my team!
Back to Prossie, nice to have stuff over the PA that isn't at 150 decibels though which I welcomed having just about a week long headache from last week! ;)
Crowd looked a lot bigger than the reported figure.

Radio guessed at about 3 - 3,500 Wedgie.

Why the hell they played "Eye of the Tiger" at half time only the DJ would know  , but it seemed to do the job

Alex Grima would have to be one of the most improved players in the SANFL so far in season 2010...

From what I saw and heard, he played some okay football in the reserves for Glenelg last year but at one stage was even close to being dropped from that side and sent to a local Southern League club for a run to find some form and confidence.

He has had a very good pre-season and improved his fitness levels and has now proven to be a very good player at league level, kicking 14 goals in his 5 games of league football to date. He has good pace, reads the ball well and can take a strong mark and kicks well.

I can see why he was on Hawthorn's Rookie List a few seasons ago and understand why the Doggies were interested in getting him out to the Ponderosa in the summer of 2008, before his bother Nathan was recruited to the Kangaroos after winning a flag with Central in 2007.

I think we did have Alex signed and then he was drafted to Hawthorn, after being dumped by Hawthorn Nathan was at the Kangaroos and Todd at Glenelg so he ended up at the Bay.

Good luck to Alex except when he plays against the Dogs maybe one day we will see him in the red white and blue.

And it's not as though the pre-match chatter is of much use anyway. I mean, who really listens to it, just same old cliches every week. They should have just STFU like everyone else did.

Just watched the replay of this game and what a great smother from Josh Willoughby in the dying moments to stop Daniel Stewart pumping the ball inside 50 for the Roosters. Certainly the match winning moment for the Tigers...

Good game of footy. Bays looked like they wanted it more. I thought Kirk and Rudolph were terrific for the bays.No Allen no North as we found out in the second half yesterday.

WHat do North fans think of Daniel healy's coaching ???

Jury is still out at this stage re Healy - we have the cattle but does he have the game plan or the ability to change it during a contest - not sure he can?

As for No Allan (PLEASE NOTE how it is spelt!) - No North, not sure about that, we have others who can get plenty of the ball but maybe some of those instead of stepping up at times rely on Allan to get it done?

We had more than enough chances yesterday to comfortably win that game and to be fair we dominated a large chunk of that game but some of our players made some very poor decisions and caused turnovers, and players like Stribling made some howlers under no pressure.

Full credit to the Bays - they are not in their best form and had a few outs but did what they had to do and won the game. Good teams not playing well or to their absolute best win those games but North will remain average and not gain the respect of the rest of the comp if they continue to lose games like yesterday's where we really should have won!

Whilst on outs, it would be nice if the media actually mentioned the players North didn't have available yesterday (Ackland, Davis, Younie) and I did mention Davis as the Mail mentioned Carr and Meyer not playing for the Bays and they are AFL listed players. Not having our No. 1 ruckman is also hurting our fwd line structure with Alleway having to do a dual role and as good as he is it is asking a hell of a lot to carry the side up fwd and in the ruck when other fwds have quiet days.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

I was impressed with North for having a fairly obvious game plan and sticking to it. When the Bays were kicking to the south (into the wind) and had their ball in their defensive 50, a wall of Roosters was forming a kick ahead of the play. The result was Bays players kicking sideways in the back 50, eventually fumbling when a Rooster got within cooee. In the third term the Roosters did their best to choke the game up while the Bays had the wind, getting numbers at the ball and flooding back behind the play. So from where I sat, Healy did all the right things in terms of game plan. In the end the result was as much a matter of luck as it was of my mob rising to the challenge.

What a fantastic game of footy to watch, really enjoyed it.
To watch a game of footy like that as compared to the garbage AFL that was on later last night ,its actually refreshing to see footy played as we know and love.
From an outsiders point of view watching the game, they chatted with Glenelgs assistant at 3/4 time and he said they were going to go man on man and back themselves, which they did, really scrapped it out to a man,Ruwoldt ,Allen and the like, the senior bays players threw themselves in and led from the front, which seemed to rub off on the young guns + the Ruckmen.Fair enough North missed a few shots, but they seemed to play large portions of the game at the one pace, where as not looking as smooth, the bays lifted their intensity and seemed to want it more, they looked more desperate and deserved to win.
North look to be a very good side with a well balanced list, but didnt look desperate enough when it really counted,Glenelg showed heaps of resolve and their fans would be well justified to be over the moon, was a sweet win. 8)
