The dog got 5th best player for Glenelg best 'rover" they had all day (sic)!!

The " dog " was not named in our League side posted on Thursday, but Ken Applegarth is having a meeting with the little pup on Tuesday to sort out the legalities ( transfer fees, de-sexing issues, worming, microchipping etc ).

North had a scout at the game yesterday and have supposedly contacted him as well, but with the Salary Cap issues they have, I doubt we will see him line up for the Roosters in 2010.

Every dog has his day, yesterday was his ! Enjoy Fido Enjoy !

Shame the dog wasn't a Sturt dog, we could've swapped him for a potential Magarey Medallist.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Great win yesterday, to be honest I didn't think we had a much of a chance against the Bays and tipped Glenelg to win. The players hit the ball and opposition hard and were a bit more direct but we still get caught out with too many handpasses. Thought Toby Thurstans look rejuvenated, never knew he could bork 5 players so easily  his run and carry from defence was really good as was his spoiling, he might just fill the loss of Coady. It's starting to look like we've formed a group of hard in and under strong players around the ball, Hassan, Cubillo, Nelson and Bode, there were some great body clashes yesterday.
Well done to the club for organising a great day, thought the screen was good, good tribute to Peter Hargreaves with highlights of a Sturt victory over Melbourne and a fitting tribute of the 1970 and 1940 Premierships. Not sure there is another club that works so hard to make a day at the footy better.
Go you Double Blues!

Well that would be a huge improvement on the umpiring I've seen at games this year.
Hopefully it continues, I could handle seeing less than 40 frees as opposed to over 55.

i'm talking about the soft tiggy touchwood free kicks that both teams got throughout the day

Oh, sorry my mistake, you're talking about SANFL umpiring, not AFL umpiring.
Most AFL games have less than 20 frees per teams, that is a rarity in the SANFL.

Watching on the telly, there was the odd soft one, but a 100% improvement on the Eagles/Port umpiring the week before.

He did play well, but was he the loose man in defence for most of the game?

Jaensch played in defence, he was creative and elusive rather than the loose man in defence Dutchy .

Fair enough, I didnt take a lot of notice of his positioning but did seem to get a lot of ball on his own, which may have be his run...

He started on the wing didn't he before switching to defence?

And why wouldn't you have him in defence with that beautiful disposal?

Watched bits and pieces of this game, taped the ABC coverage...

Pitty Hinge didn't front for the Blues, would have been interesting to see how he went against his former club...

Seeing the dog on the oval was hilarious, interesting to note as well, Neil Cross, the ABC commentator, who only lives around the corner from Unley Oval, made mention when the dog was on the oval that he recognised it as his neighbours mut and told him to go home !!

Yeah, that's it, I couldn't remember it...
