Day plays like Grocke and did well in the seconds .Watchout Grocke if you have an off game!! May well go up if Salter plays for the Power.
Seb started ok and fell out late in the game .Will be better as a second ruck when Parry returns or in fact starts.
Scott Lewis has come on in leaps and bounds since the first Eagles internal trial .And for mine I can not see why he never played league at the other 2 clubs. He can be an outrider perhaps thats a reason.

cheers Lewis is a player I rate highly, awesome lefty that wasnt given a chance under Rubbers. Seb is just a top bloke to have a chat too.

I walked past Seb in the change rooms at pre season training I come up to his armpit .Man is that guy huge!

I went toi the game and enjoyed it.

What did everyone think of Harder's game?

I thought he didnt look quick enough? Had a poor day.

Should he stay in the side?

I think McInerny is our next star in the making

Agree, McInerny is going to be a very good player, showed some good signs last year. There seems to be some pretty good youngsters down there, Robertson too, and now youe need blokes like Dolling and Summerton to take that extra step to be conistently good players and leaders like the Eagles are lucky to have McKenzie, Powell and Treeby do so.

Harder is a decent player, BUT his got to big for his own good and has lost alot of pace, he needs to find the balance between strength and speed to become a league regular imho.

I agree he is to solid and cant get across the ground. It is no point in being big at his height it is only going to cut down on his running and evasive capabilities.

Lewie did get a shot at League Footy, under Rubbers.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Played 4 games in 2007 according to the club's annual report, couldn't force his way into the team in 2008

After promising form by Guilhaus and Hoban in the trial games, disappointing first-up performance. Full marks to Todd Miles for turning the game around when he went into the centre and initiated several clearances - sadly, I hoped we would be able to play 2 normal size ruckman (above 196cm) this year and not (like 2009)have to rely on lion-hearted efforts by undersized Miles. Hopefully, Parry will make the difference - Redden is still another year away from making any impact.

Well done though - a sigh of relief to get the first one under our belt thanks to our leadership group. Replying to an earlier post (Mickalj) about "Grocke needing to watch out because of Day's good form in the Bs" well, Dale Grocke is a class ahead of Day and is showing the skills, leadership andwork effort to be one of the better forwards in our comp - wake up Eagle supporters and appreciate him!

Predict a bright future for young Ryan Fitzgerald form his form in the Seconds. Surprisingly, Allmond and Polec, two of our "finds" from 2009 are off the pace and the selectors are doing the right thing - hopefully, their form picks up because we're a little light on the smaller runners. Jarrhan Jacky's work-rate and attitude continues to flounder and should be offered to another club so we can fill his spot with a youngster who wants to play.

Have to move Symmons away from goal shooting range- would only have a 30% conversion rate over the past 4 years - suggest he plays wing and slot Geddes int0 Half forward flank.

Just another mistake by the Budget, apparently not worth complaining about however.

Scott Lewis:
2005: 16 games 6 goals 2 behinds
2006: 5 games 0 goals 2 behinds
2007: 4 games 1 goal 1 behind
Total: 25 games 7 goals 5 behinds

Can anyone name a key position player who chases and harrasses as much as Grocke does? I can't.

Dale Symmons:
2005: 14 games 17 goals 5 behinds
2006: 16 games 19 goals 5 behinds
2007: 19 games 16 goals 14 behinds
2008: 9 games 5 goals 8 behinds
2009: 10 games 8 goals 2 behinds
Total: 68 games 65 goals 34 behinds

Fancy that. I can quote.

I think you mean Adam Groecke not Dale Groecke .But I think he is doing a good job at CHF .
Me Saying Day could come in is somewhat down the future path.day still needs to show a bit more in the seconds. As both Day and Groecke as well as Hill can play teh same game style up forward. At the start of the trials I thought Day was ahead of Lewis now its the other way around .
Symmons looked better on a wing/onballer in the trial games would agree with you.Not certain about Geddes seen him play some great games on a HBF in the seconds. But he is currently an onballer in the seconds so you could be right.
Jacky is not good enough to make our seconds side. And before I get crows people abusing me .How many times did he kick the ball to the Magpies or handball to the magpies !!
I would think Polec,Allmond and perhaps Lane are coasting a little .pretty sure they snap out of it soon.
So who rucks against Norwood if you drop Hoban or do u keep both hoban and Seb ?
