"Well, it’s our turn this weekend to host you here at Woodville Oval in our match versus the Port Adelaide Magpies. This is the only time that Port Adelaide comes to Woodville Oval in 2010 and with their well documented struggles over the off season we are expecting a good showing from their supporters.

This is one of the reasons we are writing today; Our Club needs as many of our people here as we can possibly get so we implore you, if you are not headed away for Easter, to get to Woodville Oval this Saturday and potentially see your own slice of SANFL Football history as well as the dawning of a new era for the Club that you support. BLAH, BLAH BLAH..."

It seems they are implying that their supporters should come and watch the last ever match of the Magpies at Woodville. If the case, I reckon it's pretty ordinary, but then if you've got no supporters, you'll say anything to boost attendances!

You're so vain, I bet you think this email is about you...

I believe the "slice of SANFL football history" they are referring to is the chance to see the first game of the attitude era of the Eagles, or something...

Beenreal over summer and your clubs problems we heard that over 6'000 people signed up .All reports most did not show up in round1.
Do u think they will this week ?
My take on the Email was the club asking all those fans who would stay home and watch the game on TV to come to the ground .
If the majority of both clubs fans turn up will be a bumper crowd.

All reports? Don't know what reports you are aware of but there was an excellent turnout of Black and White. I actually had 2 Centrals supporters pay compliment on our numbers.

I'm sure the TV will have an effect but as usual, I and my fellow Port Adelaide brethren will be there en masse'.

For those of us that are not part of the Eagles sub sub culture, what the hell is an "attitude era".

Its a term used in describing WWE when Stone Cold was around, it was when WWE got on top of WCW. I know this will interest you no end!

Beenreal only writing what a couple of Centrals fans have told me and seeing the crowd numbers were below 6'000.I kind of guessed all the people who signed up to "SAVE PORT ADELAIDE" didn't show up at the game.I know of one who signed up but wouldn't travel to Elizabeth.
Don't forget to use the oval ave side of Fortress Woodville as the council are digging the other road up again!!
By the way Beenreal my Eagle brethren will give you and your people a warm welcome .Sorry to say there is only room along Port Rd for 1 powerhouse side in the SANFL and it wears the "GOLD" jumper ;)

Sleeping giant you stay tuned mate ;) the Attitude Era will show it self as the season progresses .And its not just what the team does on the field but the entire club on and off the field.I can't say what I was told in confidence but just watch and see is all I will say .

Wedgie thats true but it was also used in a conversation I had with a very high up Eagles official .As I said above this covers the entire club on and off the field.
Of course plagiarising WWE is fun as well

Also if the Birdman is not selected in the crows 22 tonight he will be added to the WWT team. that will be a very very good Forward line

Look forward to seeing how it all goes on Saturday.

The non-selection of Allmond and Polec, from what I've been told, has more to do with attitude rather than ability.

It appears very hard to get into the Eagles league team this year.Polec Allmond Lane all have either been injured or missed a trial game and are working their way back into the side .
Do remember that players have to miss out to fit in the afl guys of which this week the eagles have a few.
