Central District U18s were a disgrace yesterday and the club should be held accountable (and I believe will be by the SANFL who are not happy with the side they fielded and the way they conducted themselves).

Any more info than that or just logged on for a whine?

The SANFL have no say in the sides fielded in any grade, I'm sure that the club is not particularly scared on that count.

Yes they do but Centrals, in their arrogance, have chosen to disregard them. Are you that out of touch?

Exactly what was the disgrace, besides the scoreboard?

I believe the Central District U18s felt exactly the same way about the team that followed them onto Footy Park :)

I wouldn't get to precious bagging Centrals for a belting - North's 18's have copped some massive hidings last season and a couple of average results also this season!

And further from the point that CENTURION made, have a look at the injury list for the WHOLE senior squad at Central...

There would be about 12-15 players unavailable through injury at the moment from the league and reserves squad so that of course is going to call on the depth of ANY club, let alone CDFC.

With 3/4 of a team out injured, of course depth is going to be tested and there is always that snowball effect with Under 18 players stepping up into reserves footy to cover the reserves guys going up to the league side, and the same with U/16's going up into 18's, so naturally the lower grades are going to suffer on the scoreboard.

A couple of young players from Central's impressive reserves win yesterday are still eligable for Under 18's football so Grant Coffee's U/18's side is feeling rhe pinch a bit no doubt. Yes, an embarrasing scoreline and something the club would not be happy about, but look at all the circumstances around the result before slamming a club for their efforts, or lack there of.

BP - I was thinking more of and for the club (and the image of U18 sanfl football) rather than "slamming" it.

I may well be wrong but I understood that much of this was due to strategic decisions made by Centrals, which were no doubt well intended, more so than injuries.

I was hoping that they have now learnt from this for the future becuase this type of mismatch is not good for anyone.

In fact the talk is that Glenelg coaching staff, via positional changes etc, eased the damage in the second half.

My apologies though if I was too emotional in my inital reporting of this.

EXACTLY. I agree. That's my point.

And that's because North did last year what Centrals did this year - cleaned out reserves players at the start of the year and were left short and embarrassed very quickly.

This year they made a concerted effort to correct this strategically for the same reasons I have identified above re the weekend's result at AAMI.
