Their as bad as the Power

Yes, a club that kept the same guernsey for a century is being replaced by a club that has 100 different guernseys.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Take away the eagle and it would look better IMO. Just the green and blue stripe and it would look like an actual footy guernsey.

Agree but also make the fielders logo alot smaller and it would be fairly decent with yellow being the nuetral colour and then equal amount of blue (torrens) and green (woodville) perfect.

LEH, it's MUCh better than the guernsey in your Avatar. Anything with detail in it gets lost when you're watching from the sidelines or on TV. Ditto for North's. It'll come across much better on TV, so from a marketing perspective I think it's a winner.

Sturt's premiership celebratory guernsey looked terrible from a distance but great up close. Seeing as I could only see it from a distance, either on TV or from the sidelines, it looked ordinary.

Err... the point of the avatar is the Premiership Cup, NOT the Guernsey!
FYI... I hated that one too!!!

Why can't we have one similar to St. Kilda's 'home' strip?

Who @ the club keeps employing these 'yuppie marketing people' to come up with crap guernseys like Port Power's original one??? They learnt, why can't we FFS???

Finally we have a guernsey that doesn't look like a throw back to Torrens or Woodville and from what I could get out of the officials tonight, no matter the issue of design, this is exactly why it was done.

It makes sense to me, although I am not a former West Torrens or Woodville supporter - I AM AN EAGLES SUPPORTER.

Get with the times people.

Well what a lot of nay Sayers we have as supporters .
Must agree with Matt1 here .I watched the internal trial last night .How many of the nay Sayers took the time to actually take a look at the jumper on the field of play !!

Much easier to see than the darker colours in the past .
Guys get used to it we play in one jumper from now on and that's it !!
And I would have bought one last night .

This was the reason for the change as explained to the Eagles members - to have just one emblem consistent on both the badge and guernsey. As I said before, I believe they changed the wrong one.

The Southern Eagles on YP have the St Kilda strip and it looks pretty good.

Personally I'm not fussed either way with what guernsey we wear. Win our first few games in it and nobody will be worried about what it looks like! Had a chat with Chris Davies about the new guernsey and their reasons seem sound enough. Bring on round 2!!

Looks a little like the Pembroke College guernsey. At least, that's how I remember it from the early 80s.

Why!! Every couple of years we change the jumper. Pick one and just stick with it.

You don't see Nwd, Magpies , Bays etc changing the jumper every five minutes.

If this is the ONE , then leave it alone. Please give people a chance to get used to it b4 they change it in 2yrs.
Members should get information and a chance to vote on a new jumper. Who makes these decisions?

I liked last years blue jumper with the Eagle on front. Thou would have have made it look a bit more realistic than a cartoon eagle.

It's a difficult one. Some like different jumpers whilst others like to stick with one.

In some ways the club can't win.

The guernsey in previous years has been changed because of the look - not by marketing people. This time it has been changed by PROFESSIONAL marketing people for a strategic reason. I liked it - not saying I think we needed it but sound reasoning behind it.

Damned if you do, damned if you dont! At least some publicity for the Eagles!

I like changes, love how they chop and change Rugby League and soccer tops all the time but I hate the way Sponsors take up so much prominence on most SANFL guernseys.
Im unsure about if they need to consult members on possible new tops but looking at how great the Dogs "alternate" top looks and how crap Norths and the Eagles looks it probably is a good idea.
What they've got to remember is to keep it simple.
If North had their red guernsey with white vee (higher near the shoulders) for most matches and an "alternate" guernsey purely for mareketingp purposes of the opposte aka their 30s "Farmer" guernsey I'd be stoked.
I like the idea of the Eagles being predominately yellow as its so different to everyone else but I did much prefer their last yellow guernsey.
They've had some shockers, the only ones I liked were their very first one when they merged and their last lot before this one.

Wedgie mate not arguing with you just pointing out this "GOLD"(I was corrected last night its not yellow ;) ) jumper.ITS not the "ALTERNATE" jumper.ITS THE JUMPER .WWTFC will play every game in the "GOLD" jumper.
Thats it just the one strip .
