(Apologies if this isn't the right topic to ask the question in)
The football club has asked for donations from its members and raised about 80k with doing this.

They have also set up an Honour Board fund, in line with their 140th year anniversary. You pay $140 and get your name on a board at the club. They are looking at getting 1000 people to donate for this.
See, I don't understand that logic.
At least the Magpies make the Top 8 of their competition!

probably not next year though, at this rate, unfortunately for them.

as an outsider with no knowledge of what goes on etc, i'd say the power & the reason i say this is who gets the pokie money from those using them at alberton ? & who gets it on match days when port magpies are playing at alberton ?......my personel view is that both afl teams should have their training facilities at football park & leave alberton to the real port & not to an afl franchise using the port name.......as a tiger i'm happy to let them see what the rest of us have gone through & lets see if they can work their way out of it

Perhaps it is time for the Magpies to merge with Westies and the Eagles and become the Westport Eagles :D ;)

There is talk of Jeremy Clayton exiting.
I'm not sure if Matt Lokan is sticking around next year either.

The rest of you? You're kidding! Any impost from the Crows was spread out over 9 clubs, not 1.

As for the revenue split, it was recently negotiated up to 75-25 (from 85-15) the Power's way. None of the other 8 clubs lost their primary revenue stream (club income) when the AFC entered.

I very much agree with you bayman, the Power ( in my view ) would know doubt love to see the Magpies fold to take control of the supporter base which follows both teams but can't afford to support both at games & with membership.
The % of the Port Club income to the Power on SANFL game day is a joke i must say.
Port Magpies must make a tough stance & extend the size of their Prince Of Wales Pub to accomadate the supporters after a home & away game, that way they will recieve a true 100% over the bar & pokies takings, at present they are getting 20-25% of nothing at the Port Club which no club can survive on.
Its only fair the Port Magpies should get 100% of the takings at Alberton on game days & until this happens or the club changes its after match presentation venue ( to the prince of wales ), the club will get out of the red.

Surely the 25/75 split would take into account the contribution of Magpie supporters on game day so in effect thay are already getting this!

Pretty sure there is no split over the port club since the POW was purchased!

It's all the SANFL's fault.

If Magpie supporters are using the Port Club then of course there needs to be a revenue split. But with the Power moving their post match functions to Footy Park, I'm not really sure how many $$ the PAFC are contributing any more.

At least they'll improve on the field next year then.

at this rate, no-one will hang around. None of the players have been paid yet, they need to make a living, so who could blame them for leaving?

The same Matt Lokan who would be a walk up start in the Norwood side?

And Greg Edwards stated on 5AA last week, the club has until November 15 to pay the player contracts. It is his expectation that it will be done.
