The Chambers decision will be one that will be remembered and talked about for many years to come when this grand final is discussed.

1. Chambers plays does nothing looks proppy and unfit, Central win and Norman will be strongly critised in the media
2. Chambers plays kicks a bag and Sturt win, Norman makes match winning decision and is a hero.
3. Chambers doesn't play Sturt only just LOSE, Norman is villian number 1.
4. Chambers doesn't play another Sturt player stands up (alla Shane Ellen '97) Sturt win, Norman is legend.

This is why Coaches get paid the big bucks, this is why they are the first to go when a team doesn't succed. By 6.00 sunday we will know what fate Norman has been dealt.

we go through all this rubbish again, my heart couldn't survive a draw, and then to have to go through all these pre game nerves again, i would rather it sorted by next goal wins. ;)

All assume the match is a close one. You have to add:

5. Chambers plays, and gets cold in the goalsquare as Centrals beat their own GF record margin and Norman looks helpless and everyone says it would make no difference.

6.Chambers doesn't play, and someone else gets cold in the goalsquare as Centrals beat their own GF record margin and Norman looks helpless and everyone says it would make no difference.

7. Chambers does play, Centrals even find their loose man in defense is being beaten and Sturt hail Norman as their greatest premiership coach since Philips.

8. Chambers doesn't play, Centrals even find their loose man in defense is being beaten and Sturt hail Norman as their greatest premiership coach since Philips.

You've only put in the scenarios where Chambers selection or non selection makes a difference. However, there are grand finals that have been one sided enough that no individual player would have made a difference to the result by either playing or not playing.

Serious question, if it is a draw can you only play those in your named 25 for the previous week or is it open slather? Maybe we could bring in Fev for a week, Royce Hart style

Good idea - we then blame the umpires for paying too many soft frees and inciting the crowd

Spot on. The sense or nonsense of selecting or not-selecting Chambo rests with the result. If Sturt lose, the decision (whatever it is) will be seen as wrong but if Sturt win it will be seen as a masterstroke.

was it worth him playing today ?

i'd say yes because he had limited opportunities but he did seem to 'toe-poke' a couple of his kicks
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

I think it was worth the gamble bayman.
I definitely would've droppped Johncock instead of Herring though.

Chambers was hopeless or hapless today I reckon Norman made a big mistake selecting him.

I think it was more of a mistake dropping Herring than anything else.

I know he hadn't played well in the finals so far, but at least he would've lead up the field and given us a target. Chambers seemed that he didn't want to lead even when space was created for him.
