Just reading through the preview thread and I notice that UK Fan and yourself are having a bit of a brouhaha.
You are unsure as to why UKF has an issue with you and would like to know so you can understand what his deal is.

I would suggest that your posts lack a certain amount of brevity (which is not a positive in the media). In attempting to post everything you know on a subject and covering every possible base, you come across as big noting yourself (hence his nickname for you). You also seem to throw in a lot of names when you post, which to some may appear to be name dropping. You also present your opinion as fact, when sometimes it may not be.

Reading between the lines, this is what I would suggest UKF's issues with you are. UKF hasn't confirmed this with me and, of course, I'm not saying that this is what I think, just relaying what I've read into his posts to you.

Now that I've been able to identify why he calls you Big Note, I'm curious, what do you mean when you call him UKFW?

I thought you'd know better being a moderator DW, but wouldn't that type of post would have been better sent in a PM ?

Yes, it was clear that UK Fan and I had our misunderstandings, but appropriately, via PM's we have agreed to disagree and in my eyes, this will be the end of it.

As for calling UK Fan UKFW, I didn't realise I had done it, perhaps because when you quote someone, it comes up with "Joe Bloggs wrote".... so maybe that is where the W came in ?

Can we keep the posts to points relevant to the South v Central game.

Did centrals win this game?

Why are all the centrals supporters so bitchy today? ;) .

I am questioning him because like I said, it has been done and dusted and I just want to move on, plus again, how is any of this relevant to the South v Central game thread.

Hindsight is a lovely thing and I now realise that in the case of UK Fan (and his clan) v Big Phil, the tit for tat throughout the course of the lead up thread was innapropriate. For everyone's info, so we can leave it at this and get back to post game discussion, I admitted to UK Fan (via a PM appropriately) that I can see what he was saying (so no DW, I am not unsure as to why UK Fan had an isssue with me) and admitted I was wrong and apologised accordingly.

Yes, perhaps there was a stubborness on my part to not take on board what UK Fan, and others, have said in the past about me, at the end of the day, I have admitted I was wrong (yes, set myself up there I know for a thread I once started !!) and like I say, just want to get back to posting about the footy and footy related issues, not barney's between SA Footy users.

AGAIN, CAN WE ALL PLEASE MOVE ON NOW !!

We Centrals supporters aren't bitchy WYC Bloods. In fact, we're just sharing our opinions - as we have many.
We can't always agree with each other all of the time. It's just not humanly possible. I'm sure you don't agree with everything your fellow Bloods supporters feel/say/write.
Centrals did win the game too. We won by about three goals. I should be more accurate than that but I'm sorry I don't have the actual scores at hand.
I must admit, I nearly had a heart attack when watching Channel 7 News last night when I saw the SANFL scores.
The scoreboard showed South Adelaide (well, they'd actually written Panthers) on the top line of the score and I thought that meant Centrals had suffered a shock loss.
Of course, 7 Nightly News had followed the soccer style of putting the home team first on the graphic and not the winning team.
As I said, it nearly gave me a heart attack but I quickly recovered when I read the full score.
A solid effort by the Panthers nonetheless. Judging by the posts on here from all who saw the game, Centrals did enough to win and didn't put the superchargers on.
Anyway, I'm glad I could answer your question WYC Bloods. Hope it helps.

Any news on how long Callinan will be out for?

I have a feeling they took him off before he really did twing it in the thought that we were home and hosed as a precaution.

If he is to miss games i would really like to see Allocca come into the side. He has really impressed at reserves level and offers alot of variety in that he can play as a tall/small forward. Another forward wouldn't go astray as i think Schell is struggling when he goes forward despite playing very well in the backlines where i am sold on him.

Thanks DW. I was merely pointing out that the slanging matches between fellow supporters/posters usually only occur after a loss and that in my time as a SAFooty user that hadn't happened. You all have different opinions which is good i agree, i found it amusing that there was a bit of keyboard biffo going on and felt obliged to get a little dig in at their expense, because it aint that often you can have a go at a Centrals supporter(s) when you follow Westies.

From the Messenger website on Ian Callinan and Daniel Havelberg's hamstring injuries...

Link - http://leader-messenger.whereilive.com.au/sport/list/category/australian-rules-footy/

Jai Bednall @ Messenger Press wrote:CENTRAL District midfielder Ian Callinan will have scans on his hamstring today after re-injuring the muscle against the Panthers yesterday.

Bulldogs CEO Kris Grant said Callinan could miss his side’s clash with Norwood this weekend.

``It doesn’t look that bad. I don’t think it’s going to be a multiple-weeker, but he may not be back this week,’’ Grant said.

Callinan missed three games earlier this season with the same injury.

Teammate Daniel Havelberg is also expected to miss up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.

The key forward suffered the injury against North Adelaide two weeks ago.

I overheard Ian Callinan after the game say the twinge is just above behind the back of the knee and didn't feel all that bad, so I guess best to be cautious and rest. I agree with what you say about Dave Allocca as well WHUFC, after kicking 6 goals in the reserves on the weekend, I reckon he has to be given a chance at league level, against one of his former sides as well, so he may lift that little bit extra as well.

Totally agree. I hope by finals time our attack has enough options that we can move him to CHB.

Thanks Whatever, the club intended to place a smaller grandstand where the stratco shelter is on the western wing and was to built in front of and on top of the changerooms but the final cost to this together with all the other improvements put it off. However many supporters have requested that these plans be considered at a later date once some debt has been repaid as i believe the club would also like to still build it.

Perhaps a few other Dog fans can assist with the answer here.
Can anyone explain why we've suffered an unusually high volume of soft tissue (particularly hamstring) injuries in 2009?

Havelberg x 2 - did he come back too early, albeit after several weeks off (he's the barometer of our side, and frees up Schell to go back)
Callinan x 2 - did he also come back too early, he had a hamstring injury in 2008 as well from memory (or was nursing them)
Duncan - he nearly tore his from the bone, in the Port match (will be lucky if he does get back in five weeks time)
Cochrane - pre season
...and there are others too?

Like there were a number of knee injuries about eight years ago in the AFL, we seem to be experiencing a high volume of particularly hamstring injuries. Maybe the colder, wetter winter.

Interesting point ST. I remember back in the late 90s we were suffering a fair few leg injuries and we changed the training regime and stopped so much running on roads and hard surfaces. The injury rate dropped. Maybe the fitness staff need to review the situation and be a little more conservative with returns from injury!

We have played 21 finals in the last decade but I don't see how that could explain our injury problems at the moment.
