The Danes are a pretty astute mob, he may be on the money....

I think he's right, I just caught up on how North had about a dozen players out tonight and Norwood were $1.55 favourites.
They cheat the salary cap and still can't win a game at home?
Time to pack it in and give up Norwood! ;)

I just want to ask how it's possible for North Adelaide to utterly dominate a match, completely smash Norwood all over the field, and yet only win it by 35 points. They should have won tonight's game by 20 goals.

It is a very good question too AH, because North were clearly a 10 goal better team tonight, and, whilst I think Norwood could have some improvement left in them, North have more ... Mark my words, Norwood aren't, and won't be a legitimate flag threat this year.

Well one, not too many sides win a game by 20 goals these days, North did miss alot of easy shots for goal on occasions but to say there is a 20 goal margin between the sides is ridiculous, perhaps when you have a look at the stats it may answer some questions, Norwood wasted the ball a hell of alot but again not to a 20 goal margin. Suppose a lot of Norwood supporters will wrongly write of their season after tonight. Perhaps delve back into the last 6 to 8 years of North and Norwood clashes, we always seem to beat you at Norwood easily and you do the same to us at Prospect. We are only in round 4 and I aint counting my chickens before they hatch, I suggest you dont push the socks down before they stretch

Choco strikes again........... Pathetic hope the Hawks tear them a new one

Who is he replacing in the selected side?

I don't mean to be a complete bastard, but he's not your player, so tough luck. If Sheedy was scheduled to play for Henley Sharks and then Sturt withdrew him to host a kids party, I couldn't give a shit about who got upset at that tin pot club.

No disrespect meant, but again, he's not your player, so you can only borrow him at Port's pleasure.

I know its annoying, but hey, no one makes your club keep AFL listed players on the books. All clubs are well aware that the players are (a) not theirs and (b) can come and go as their REAL club chooses.

Yep, 2009 is gone already for Norwood. I've seen two matches this year, Sturt and North, and both performances were insipid beyond belief.

How bad is Port and South that they could actually lose to a patheic team like Norwood? We have a number of players who really should consider doing something else because they can't play footy to save themselves. Some of them used to be good players.

I'll be stuffed if I'm going to waste my time watching that crap, I've got better things to do.

but if the failures could at least let norwood know with a little notice they would not have had a player play 1 and a half games tonight! might not have changed the outcome this time but if the results were less than a goal apart it may have. f@#$ the failures, they do it regularly  meanwhile, to those norwood posters, what happened to the 40+ point win if it wasw dry?

Mate, I wouldn't back Norwood to win this year's flag if you offerred me 1,000/1. You call it ridiculous, I call it realistic.

Your point is valid and all SANFL clubs have to accept it, or do they? You're presuming it's a one way street and the AFL clubs get no benefit from THEIR players playing what is effectively reserves but in the 2nd best comp in Australia ... It's a two way street, if all SANFL clubs turned around and said "Bugger this, we don't want any AFL listed players on our list" where would that leave the Crows and Power?

If it were to adversely affect the two local AFL clubs, it would adversely affect the SANFL clubs on the roundabout would it not?

I suppose an important factor would be when Port actually told Norwood. If it was after the reserves game had started and in hindsight reading back, that may well have been the case, then that's pretty annoying.

Still, it always comes back to the same thing, he's not their player. To avoid these situations in future, Norwood can just refuse to play him and that in itself does not help Port and may bring about a more respectful relationship.

That's certainly what I would do at Sturt if it happened regularly. You just drop the player and don't play him at all. In the end that's a dreadful result for the Power.

Bugger being their player or not! if he is going to be a travelling emergency, surely the failures know before 6pm friday night! even an hours more notice could posibly make a difference to this instance. if it was a saturday game, maybe. But surely the power would already know by close of business tonight that they "may require" his services. no problems with the whole not their player argument, but would norwood have made a guy play a game and a half, had tey known before hand?

I would say it would lead them to saying 'dont expect the $400k dividend you get from us'. Where would this leave the SANFL clubs? As you said, its a two way street. You want the coin, you play the players. Whilst its a poor situation, in the end, hes an AFL player, hes listed as an emergency, if the Power want to pull him and send him to Melbourne because someone is in doubt then thats up to them. The Crows do this numerous times a year as well.
