If Stuart Hill plays (he is named on the bench) does anyone besides me think he may have a stint at CHB.Thus freeing up Kenny Mac to play FF .

If the Eagles can develop him into a key position backman that would help us greatly. Do you think he has the ability mickyj? From the small amounts I've seen of him (mainly playing ruck) he is a real goer.

I think that McGregor at CHB is best for the side and is where Kenny plays his best footy, but Hill back there with him would mean we can use McKenzie wherever we like all the time and would allow us to perhaps use Hier up the ground a bit more. Or would even release Broadbent or Stewart to play on the ball or up forward.

I hope we see the coaching staff be a little more flexible this year (may be dreaming...). McGregor is the new Lindsay. When in trouble, move Kenny forward.

Broadbent and Treeby in particular have natural goal sense. I hope to see these two players be used in a creative position that can kick or create goals. It is great to have Broadbent pin pointing passes from half back to the wing, but really, that doesn't win us games.

Westbrook combined with Grocke will give us some real targets at half forward. I don't expect Westy to be a great goal kicker for the side (and neither is Grocke), but his value to the team, when playing well, is in providing that contest and X-factor as we enter our forward line. This is so important to the team structure.

I really hope the Eagles win and think they can, but I tipped Glenelg by 6 goals...

Oh ye of little faith Aerie I tipped the Eagles by --------a point
Hill has been playing at CHB in the two's and played in one trial there in the league.Of course he could be used as a third tall in the ruck.
I am not convinced re Westbrook just yet struggled the last two weeks and clearly was shown is not a FF.Which is good frees him up to move to a HFF much better option .and not being a number one forward he could slip under the bays radar.

Interesting to see if Hill does play and where. Maybe it could be at CHB, throw the kid in and let him have a go,would give us more options.
Todays team on paper looks the best we have fielded so far this season, fingers crossed.

BOP the reason our club is where we're at is because of supporters like yourself - get behind the team or go and use your negative support because elsewhere we don't need negative people like you supporting our great club. Even I get frustrated from time to time with our performances but I always back my Eagles 100%. Go the Mighty Eagles.

EHL, the club is where it is because of supporters like me........what a load of crap. Gee my tip is going to make them lose, Oh No, maybe I should change it to Eags by 40 and then they will win!!!

I call it the way I see it, i'm a realist.I would hate to see your footy tips over a full season if you tip with your heart each week. If I thought they were going to win I would tip them, but they have not showen me enough at this stage. I hope I'm so wrong and we win.
I feel this is a changing time for the team and it will take time for us to gel into a decent side. I think we will improve as the season goes on.

OK BOP maybe I was a little harsh in my criticism of you. I am passionate about my Eagles and the constant negativity from a lot of our supporters erks me. I feel that we all should get behind the boys rather than run them into the ground with criticism at every opportunity.

I'm a passionate Eagle as well and always will be, but I also call things the way I see it. The team is changing and I feel we will go thru some pain but come out better and stronger in the future.

I couldn't agree more . Playing a team with more youth is building the team for the future .If we dont get raided by the afl again.

PS
Pretty sure that many of the youth are playing some great footy at present

Micky, when the Eagles are 'raided' by the AFL, it's`usually by the Crows or Port.

Very true.

It is helpful to some extent if they are rookied or developing players, but it's awkward when they're fringe players.

Micky, out of 16 teams, to have so many locally is a very large proportion, especially compared to some other SANFL clubs. In the last draft, you kept 3 out of 4 here? (Not sure of the exact numbers?).
