I'd expected him to be elevated this year, not delisted, yes. But while Dabrowski and Biglands will be a good ruck duo, the big factor is if they can both be on the park at the same time for the majority of the season. That's why I'm disappointed Jacobs isn't back.

Pretty sure it was the Irish bloke who ducked that contest. Might have been Henderson though (both have had very little experience playing in a contact sport let alone against giant AFL players so gotta cut a little slack). Rendell stated Henderson killed it in the Ballarat league but they wanted to see him in an AFL training environment and he was very impressive athletically. I would expect both of them to play ressies all year though.

Pretty sure it was the Irish bloke who ducked that contest. Might have been Henderson though (both have had very little experience playing in a contact sport let alone against giant AFL players so gotta cut a little slack). This bloke hasnt played footy since he was 15.
Henderson couldn't get a kick in the Ballarat F.L under 16's.
Next thing 4 years later he is running around at Trentham and only signed on late with them and only played the last 3 games of the year in a comp where most blokes need a bell in the ball to find it.
He wont get a kick in the SANFL twos.
I dont know if it was him that ducked his head but it sounds like his form.

I thougth the selection of Henderson was a very curious one too! You've obviously seen him play, what position did he play for Trentham? Did he stand out at all (from your comments i presume you'll say no).

I wouldnt know the first clue about him, but I read on another site that he played 6 games for his team and ended up 4th in their BnF from the 6 games. Fair effort if true. Not sure how much weight that brings to how he'll perform in SANFL though.

Once Sam Jacobs was not picked up in the national draft, Carlton had priority to list him as a third year rookie, that's why his name came up very late in the rookie draft. Similar to Brian Donnelly no one could take him that's why the Crows picked him at 55, therefore the Crows could not have picked Jacobs up in the rookie draft. I doubt if the Crows were ever interested as they picked up four talls in the National Draft.

It's a punt on a rookie list spot. No big deal, go for it I reckon. If you look at the success rate of draft picks in the ND (alarmingly low esp after the 1st few rounds) then it might help put punts like this in context.
