Too early to tell but if desire and attitude remain in tact together with few injuries (not much ready to step up to league from Reserves just yet) maybe wooden spoon talk was a little premature.

Shouldnt underestimate the injection of experience around the club...the wise heads of Cahill and Taylor in the coaches box and Torney on the ground...good influence on the younger kids coming thru....are they the real deal?....at best might squeeze into the five if they have a dream run with injuries......not in the same class as Sturt yet (but who is this year?) but some goods signs down there...... with a few good on ground performances it might just encourage some of those long lost Panther supporters to return to the fold....

Well the difference between this side and last years is huge. This year the list is no where as deep or talented as last years, on paper anyway. Cahill & Co have given the players a masterclass in attitude adjustment which currently is paying dividends. We have won two tight games against more fancied opponents only through sheer guts and hard work. Last year I am sure South would have done the predictable thing and folded like a pack of cards.
We will have difficulties when our depth is stretched through injury or suspension and are probably an outside chance to play finals but I believe we will be tested against some of the top teams. Make no mistake however that under the new regime any team that defeats South will really earn the 2 pts.

Just goes to show the players that were holding the club back & playing more for the $$$ than the heart & jumper.
I think you can put Pyman in that cetergory too.

I think Jack must be doing a pretty good job at this early stage.

south had a better list then (& last year) than they do now, the difference is there is no 5h1t going on off the ground & therefore everything runs smoothly  as for that game i actually thought south would win that game because we had about 3 or 4 out & when smith went off injured around the half time mark the floodgates opened, i'm just glad mouse didn't get games because myself, mrjbeam & others were on him to win the medal @ 40/1  & fwiw i was there barracking for south the next week & i enjoyed that win

good to see that south a good clean up through the club and are fin ally playing local talent.maybe they should have done that years ago instead of promising players but never doing it.n recruting JOKERSto play .they would be a strong club now if they didnt stuff around with there junior talent.
