in all seriousness, whilst the reason around living location carries a little bit of weight this off season has proven that 'all those excuses' were pretty much just that from a management that had fallen behind the times and dare i say incompetent.

Yep, incredible that he lasted that long, being made to look silly now (in a good way for CD)

Sadly, previous management was able to live off previous successes (which imo makes them club legends and will do forever) but for me it was obvious the club was making excuses which wasn't just restricted to recruiting. We had become an excuse first club...

Couple of fresh faces in with good experience and all of sudden we are seeing elements of the club change overnight including ability to attract recruits (we will find out about the quality in the coming months), communication between club and fans has improved dramatically in the last few months as well.

I still can’t believe supporters/people involved with the club had their heads buried in the sand and let this continue for so long.

Thankfully It’s taken the new management not long to bust the myth. Initially those involved thought it was going to take sometime to repair the previous broken connections/networks.

Nothing wrong with Kris Grant who we love but he needed more help. But at the time we seemed to be fixated on saving $$$$ than finding solutions.

And the recruiting will get better next year and so on….

I think we have a good coach, good football manager and the squad has improved a lot.

Bring on season 2023 and whatever it holds. It feels like the journey to the clubs next premiership has finally taken a major leap in the right direction.

We are excited to announce the recruitment of Patrick Walker and Ollie Sanders.
Patrick is originally from North Hobart and has had 2 years with North Melbourne FC. He has played predominantly as a half back flanker in his time at North. A quality character, who is excited to move to SA and join our footy club.
Ollie Sanders is from North Launceston. He played U/18’s for the Tassie Devils and senior footy for North Launceston FC in the TSL. Ollie moved his life to Victoria in 2022 and played for Carlton VFL. Ollie is a quality person, with an excellent work ethic. Has played as a mid and forward to this point in his career and is looking forward to wearing the red and blue.
We welcome both Patrick and Ollie and look forward to what both will bring to The Norwood Football Club

Yeah the Menzels were his ticket into the 'inner sanctum' of SANFL clubs. Smart man.

I thought he credited himself with getting them to the Eagles, along with a KOTN media Eagles deal.

Rob Harding will be a bit of a loss. Very knowledgeable bloke and a good eye for talent.

Yeah I’m not sure he is a great coach. Reckon he is more suited to a talent ID and development role
