If it was two decent AFL clubs like Hawthorn and Geelong I'd understand.

And clash with the Collingwood v Essendon game? The only way would be to play earlier in the day like the Dogs and 'Legs did on the weekend and the Anzac Day march would prevent that happening.

Perhaps the Norwood v North game should have been a twilight fixture and followed the Collingwood v Essendon match if the SANFL wanted more C7 exposure?

great point booney. a twilight game would have been great imo.

Don't forget there's 2 AFL games on Anzac Day, 2nd one starts about 5.30 our time.
Anyway, they're all crap teams, real footy fans will be at Adelaide Oval. Just a pity those disabled and aged footy fans will have nothing decent to watch.

Actually there's 3 AFL games on ANZAC Day, Freo host North (2 more "crap" teams) at 8:30 our time.
Good luck with all your "real" footy fans at Adelaide Oval.

The Ch7 coverage is pretty good, except for Ginever, not sure why they need 3 in the box anyway, Soders and Casey could do it without him and it would be much better.

I'd say the opposite. Without Ginever it would be a very boring call. Coverage is ok but I reckon ABC did a better job. Boundary rider is pretty amateur and Casey and Soders lack any excitement in their voices.

100% agreed. And much better than the ABC was.

I personally get sick of commentators who are excited, e.g. Huddo or Stephen Rowe. But I agree that you don't want a completely dry commentary.

Thought the coverage today was pretty reasonable. The callers were accurate. Sufficient replays after ad breaks. Personally don't mind Ginever, and like RB I cant stomach commentators who consistently go over the top with excitement. As mentioned above the boundary guy needs to polish up his presentation a little and ask some decent questions.

My only gripes would be the fact that they missed the opening bounce, while we could do without the AFL/Crows news.

Not the SANFL game between Norwood and North from Adelaide Oval...

The TV game for next week is Central v South out at Playford Alive Oval, Elizabeth...

The ANZAC Day game this coming Friday will be covered on radio by RPH Adelaide...

Are you sure? There was an ad on channel 7 for it yesterday. Maybe it was just advertising the game itself

The game listed on my dvd recorder programme list is the Arctic Park game.

The Adelaide Oval (you know, that stadium they spent $millions on) game would have been telecast if the broadcaster was the ABC.

So it clashes with an AwFL game. Record the GF re-match and replay it Saturday afternoon.

ABC TV did not broadcast the 2012 nor 2013 Anzac Day games.

Yeah, mate...

Zac Milbank from the SANFL rang Channel 7 mid last week to confirm as I needed to arrange to do a line test at Adelaide Oval, IF it was RPH calling the game. Zac came back to me and said the Digs v Panthers game at Elizabeth wad the TV game and RPH will be calling Norwood v North at AO...

With some of the ratings discussion that has been taking place in the Crows Magpies post game thread, thought I would make a couple of comments in here.

I have no doubt that Seven would be extremely happy with the audiences they are getting for their SANFL coverage. Naturally they would have been stepping cautiously in to this, after all, the SANFL has not been on commercial television since 1992, and had been attracting small audiences on the ABC. I would think the ratings so far would be well above their expectations!

My hope is that if this can continue, that down the track this may actually mean some revenue pumped back in to the SANFL and the clubs. A win-win if this does occur!
