Blokes who work menial jobs during the week and are subservient to their harridan fishwives during the week, their one chance to feel important comes on the weekend when they get to don their yellow vests and strut chest-out in front of the SANFL fans. It matters not that the bearers of Eric have not transgressed SANFL laws; only that their personal (and chiefly imaginary, if it were ever seriously tested) ability to lord it over better blokes than themselves has been threatened. This is what you get when you pay bottom dollar for security.
