Not solely, and neither would have Laird around Obst, but I reckon they would have both been each coach's first-choice full forwards when they put down the best sides at the start of the year.

I watched that one the other day on VHS - I said it on another thread but Big Bad Bustling Barnaby (French) breaking Damian Hicks' ribs early was a huge blow for the Dogs.

I might put the 2009 GF on now :D

If you look at his performances in the 2010 finals then yes he would have been prominent in Gods planning.

Hentschel kicked 4 goals in the round 10 against North in a match where North came from behind to win at Woodville Oval. At that stage he was clearly not at his absolute best, but you would have expected that Hentschel would have been in Godden's planning. He looked as though he was finding form but alas it wasn't to be.

At full strength , Eagles and Dogs would have had a cracking GF with Obst obviously key while Hentschel and Kite adding options ; it wasnt bad though :) maybe just a few goals short !

To remain the best, what do you think we need to recruit for next year, holden? The main reason why we were out of the finals two years after 1993 and 2006 were because of the lack of recruiting to replace AFL draftees and player retirements.
