Two clubs - Central and Norwood - want the Magpies' licence to play in the SANFL (that was signed on December 1, 2010) to be revoked.

If this move is successful, the Power would then have no choice but to replicate the Crows with a stand-alone team in the SANFL.

And people try and tell us that theres no more open wounds towards Port Adelaide?

Do you possibly think it might have something to do with our low junior rate and wanting Salisbury and environs back??

But you can think its all about 1990 and the 95/96 GF's if you want to.................

I reckon it's driven more by your own club than anyone else.

Yep, Thomas, Koch and co. don’t want blood on their hands. This was basically the views of the South hierarchy and the other directors.

i think you'll find its more along the equality of the 2 AFL sides. in the thinking that they should both play by the same rules!
plus in the last re-zoning Norwood lost an absolute stack of its hills zone and went from middle of the pack as far as football playing males, to stone motherless last! even though they put the most money and time into Jnr development!

We've pulled out though, so we wont be playing by any rules next year. They would be forcing another SANFL reserves team in.

Another reason for the stalling by AFC is that an AFL reserves comp could be closer than we think!

As you know, Collingwood, Essendon and Geelong all have 'reserves' in the VFL. Technically you can include Carlton (Northern Blues) and Box Hill Hawks (Hawthorn) in that group as well.

Next year, Richmond will have reserves (breaking away from Coburg) and so will Footscray (Williamstown told them to nick off).

That leaves Melbourne aligned with Casey, St.Kilda aligned with Sandringham and North Melbourne splitting their players amongst Werribee and North Ballarat.

HOWEVER, there is movement at the station!

St.Kilda are yet to confirm if they will continue their alignment with Sandringham next year. It all seems to hinge on a proposed redevelopment of Moorabbin - if that happens, the split is on.

At the end of last season it was widely reported that Casey were on the verge of collapse, due to a failed pokies venture... a white knight was called in to bail them out. Scenarios of Melbourne taking over Casey or Melbourne reserves (with Casey folding) have been floated.

If either or both those situations were to occur, there would be only one or two true alignments left in the comp, with all the rest being AFL reserves.

Plus remember, all VFL licences expire at the end of 2014 - from what happens there... who knows!

Is Trigg still requiring the "unanimous" support from all nine teams? or is he gonna be happy with scraping over the line?

If it's 6-2 I cant see the Crows not entering SANFL.

Although I was a Full Forward in my heyday, I probably feel your constant comparisons to our gun Full Forward a little unjustified UK

Appreciate it though. ;)

FWIW, Slaven said that the rest of the Norwood board had changed Tripodi's mind and that he would therefore likely be voting yes.

How ridiculous. It the PAFC hierarchy wanted no blood on their hands they simply could have accepted the $ANFLs rejection of their Reserves model.

Interesting that the directors are in disarray on their views towards the AFC plan but can all of a sudden be in unison when it comes to their attitudes towards Port Adelaide.
