Thanks for the WWT recaps fellas. Interesting (and depressing) getting different perspectives.

I chose the right year to sell my Sturt memorabilia that's for sure... it'll be worth f*** all in a couple of years.

Why does the South vote surprise you, just out of interest? And do you think the club was being honest with this 7-1 count, and wasn't fudging figures so they didn't look like the only bad guys in all this? Would love to know what Centrals and Norwood are thinking.

Any money spent on these clubs surviving until we can reap West Lakes, SMA and licence fees is money well spent. I think some sort of guarantees need to be put in place before this goes ahead that our clubs are guaranteed to survive for a certain number of years.

This decision is a gamble, but so is everything.

I'm sorry to say, but the SANFL will be guaranteed survival, but not the clubs. There will be no real concern shown for the first couple of clubs folding, after that they'll bail out clubs, but the first couple will go without any fanfare.

If South were the only club to vote no...

... then South is where my money will go from hereon.

I think everyone on here should do the same, if they are the only club to have voted against it, we should let our own clubs know we are cancelling our membership and backing South Adelaide from here on.

Who would have thought... a club that has experienced so little success in the last 100 years, is the only one to stand strong. The mouse that roared in many ways, while our so called big clubs all pissed their pants and ran away.

Not me saintal...

I almost had a go & Slavin when he made a snide comment regarding South - hopeless on field for 40 yrs was the inference.
I wanted to say "Hang on, they are one of the oldest Clubs in the competition, a foundation member Club"... but little opportunity due to the forum & people's questions.

That did make my blood boil though

I am waiting, but I am likely to buy a SAFC Membership for 2014 - they've shown much strength & I have greater respect for them as a result :D

More so I was thinking Central were the ones against. Maybe their board still is?

That 7-1 is in no way locked in neither and Slaven said as much. It just feels like this is going to go ahead.

I know this is probably rude and disrespectful to South, but if Norwood were the ones who were adamantly voting NO, I'd have more confidence that this wouldn't go through.

Slaven and the Eagles are pathetic.

That's it for me. No more renewal of my membership.

Yeah fair enough Aerie. Need Norwood in the NO camp that is for sure. If Tripodi swings the other way on this there is no hope of it getting voted out.

Good onya LEH. We may still roll over when it matters and the final tinkering is done, and Triggy will get the 8-0 he so badly desired. :^o

I was at Woodville tonight, some very good questions from the gathered assembly, the longer it went on the better the questions. No chairs provided for most of us though - I am part of the ageing demographic! I know the club(s) are in a difficult position, essentially worried that SANFL will become irrelevant with more hope than analysis that adding the AFL teams will protect/enhance the SANFL comp. Strangest thing for me was the hostility toward Port Adelaide. Any negative comment about Port greeted favourably by many - parochial attitude, but I suppose Port partly created this mess. Much reference to the 3,000 Port members who are apparently very unhappy and references (positive) that there will be no Alberton games when this all goes through - which I think is quite sad. I think the loyalty to Crows among many fans probably clouds their judgement. One man asked, 'why don't we get a vote'? Which reminded me of that evening 23 years ago being in the same room putting up our hands to say goodbye to Woodville. Funny old world.

This was the analogy used by Slaven to the question posed regarding 9 teams fighting to win the premiership compared to 8 teams fighting to win the premiership and 2 teams with other agendas.

Are serious question CSBowes

Are Sturt going to be able to afford to replace the key players they lose, that's going to be a fair bit of coin in transfer fees.

If they can't they are looking at another wooden spoon dynasty which as u said will fold the club.

No chance in hell we could afford to replace them. We will replace them with reserves players without doubt.

A spoon dynasty is a given. I just can't believe our stupidity.

I don't think replacing the players is a huge deal. We've got some good juniors coming through. It's the financial members and supporters that will fall off big time.
